One way is because they were very strict about the laws they believed in. In modern day we are not so much restricted to the things that we are supposed to abide to, there are some people who does not believe in God and actually feel that there is no God, which is different from the Puritan times, because if you did not believe in anything then you were heretical, and could be accused of practicing witchcraft or even working with the devil. Also the puritans believed in a life of hard work which is way different from modern day time, because I know a lot of people don’t work hard in the things that they do, like for instance school work. Also, a lot of people in the modern day time don’t have a lot of self-discipline like the Puritans had. The way the Puritans conducted their trials was very different, from how modern day courts function. We need more than verbal evidence, because just accusing someone of a crime does not necessarily mean they committed that crime. There needs to be physical evidence that matches the accusing of the crime, and key witness that can also testify.
The puritans lived a strict and conformed lifestyle, whereas modern day time is basically a free for all type of time. We are not restricted like the Puritans was. We both practice many different religions and still believe there is a devil. But we don’t work as hard as the Puritans do. Nor do we have self-discipline like the Puritans did. Putting
