Life in ancient Egypt was not easy to live in back then, but it would have been cool to learn hieroglyphics and I love how they thought of their gods and goddesses. The amazing thing is that the Egyptians valued life and like in movies they were portrayed that they valued death. Children were also valued and treasured, and if the Egyptians could not have kids they would have adopted. I just would have hated on going to school and not getting an education just because of my gender. I would also hate getting married around 12 and have my marriage arranged by my parents. Not being with a man I loved on my own is way different than being made to love one man. The Egyptian women had a thing going thanks to the pre-nuptial they had to sign before getting married. I mean at least the men couldn’t take what you brought into the family, and sadly that includes the kids!
The men and women did a lot of the same things to improve their appearance. The men and women both wore makeup even if they basically painted their whole face with black makeup, but it would’ve been cool to just wear makeup when I was a kid so I wouldn’t have had such bad picture days like I did. The men shaved their head and wore one braid lock to one side. The men only wore wigs if they couldn’t do anything with their hair and it was for decoration. The men only wore wigs when they went to parties or official functions. The women wore wigs for decoration and for protection from the heat. When the women didn’t wear wigs they cut their hair short and put hair pieces on to enhance their hair. So if they had a bad hair day or just did not feel like doing their hair like me, they would put on wigs. Sounds simple enough? Everyone in Egypt wore some type of jewelry. The rings and amulets were always worn to ward off evil spirits and injuries. Sounds like half of America needs this too, but if only it was true. Both men and women pierced their eyes and only the rich wore beaded collars.
