Letter to the Editor:
I wish to draw attention through the letter of your newspaper to the concern authority that the major problem of city is CNG load-shedding two times in a week or nine days in a month. In these days, people of Karachi are suffering from different kinds of problem few are as follow. During these day people wait for bus long period of time and bus is loaded with the passenger there is no space to stand. Most of the people sit over the roof of the bus with the great risk of their life to reach destination. People have no other choices because they have to late for their work. The fare of bus doubles due to non availability of CNG. The fare of auto rickshaw and taxis also double in these days. These are the problems people of Karachi face nine days of every month.
Nowadays, there is a common issue for the masses that transport have become an everyday hassle because there is shortage of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and most buses are plying on CNG.
Most buses these days have converted their fueling mechanism from diesel to CNG because CNG is less pollution producing fuel. But these days CNG prices have reached a very high price and due to which the transporters stage protests everyday due to which the public suffers in everyday routine.
It is my humble request to convey my message to the concern authorities, so they can solve problems by introducing innovative technologies. – SYED MOHSIN ABRAR

Your article “You Have the Right to Remain a Target of Racial Profiling,” was rather entertaining and not based on all factual evidence. I do not solely base my opinions on statistical data from one source. You quoted percentages from the Federal Bureau of Justice Statistics report which stated that Hispanics, African Americans and Whites were most likely to be pulled over for a traffic offense. Percentages can be alarming when used in this context, and I agree that this would be a very persuasive argument for racial biases.…

Your article pertaining to the crimes against the older population was thorough and well delivered. The elderly population is indeed becoming victimized on a larger scale than has been seen in the past. This increase is a result of the growing number of seniors living in society with little protection. Perhaps the most compelling part of your article was that of your question “Who is responsible for protecting these individuals?” You pose quite a thought and emotion invoking question and one which I could not help but share my thoughts on.…

Throughout reading articles published in your newspaper in the past few years and also in the broader media in Australia, I have become quite irritated that Australian Indigenous communities are still being treated with disrespect and wrongness by our government. All human beings should be treated as equals and have equal rights to the basic necessities such as quality health care. However we still fail to give our Indigenous communities the respect that they deserve, after all the heart ache we the non-indigenous Australians have caused them in the past it is only fair that we treat them with the utmost respect.…

I am writing this letter to Jeremy Rifkin’s article “A Change Of Heart About Animals.” I disagree. I don’t think we can change the way we treat animals. I think we should just let them be and have them live their own habit. If we change the way we treat animals, than they would be like humans and not themselves. They wouldn’t be just normal animals. I feel that animals should be in their own habit and not become more like humans.…

As is evidenced in recent world news and events, taking steps to energy independence is paramount to the continued survival of the United States as a Nation. Growing increasingly dependent on the natural resources in other parts of the world further compounds the possibility for this independence. As a conservationist, it is my belief that we as a country can begin to develop the means required to carefully and sensibly manage our natural resources in an effort to usher in this independence. For instance, the Bridger Teton National Forest houses 3.4 million acres of land that has gone untouched, and undisturbed by increases in population and industrialization. As such, the resources here have gone untapped. Consider being able to provide incentives for the local industries such as forestry, and mining in the area, to use more environmentally friendly technologies to not only increase the effectiveness of harvesting in these areas, but to also minimize the damaging effects of this harvesting to the surrounding landscape and ecosystems. The implantation of environmental taxes requiring those businesses that take advantage of this opportunity, to pay an amount equal to the harm they cause on the environment will further increase the use of more eco-friendly technologies. A(n) tradable permits system is also a consideration, limiting the total amounts of pollutant that can be released, allowing both persons and businesses to buy and sell rights to emit and reduce emissions at the least cost to them. These efforts will not only prove useful in making us the independent, nation that has been the basis of our existence, but will also provide us the means to sustain the natural resources required for our continued existence, and ability to support the ever growing human population. We MUST consider more effective means to tap into the natural resources that the earth has…

    * The use of alternative fuels such as liquefied natural gas can greatly reduce the amount of greenhouse gasses. If the 8 million class 8 vehicles on the road today were to switch to natural gas; that would mean a reduction of 2.5 million barrels of imported oil per day, according to T. Boone Pickens, founder of Clean Energy. A reduction in the 2.5 million barrels of oil imported per day would certainly put a dent in the 35 billion gallons of diesel consumed per day by the trucking industry. Trucks that use liquefied natural gas are more expensive (about $30,000 more per truck) however using this fuel is ethical as it will improve the conditions of the earth. It would also be part of my interest to find ways for companies to improve their gas mileage by figuring out and finding more fuel efficient routes for their transportation methods.…

I am writing this letter in regards to the recent article that was printed in the Sydney Morning Herald earlier this week criticizing the study of Shakespeare in school and how it should be removed from the year 9 syllabuses. One of Shakespeare’s most famous works is the play of Romeo and Juliet which is also one of the world’s best-known love stories. A play such as Romeo and Juliet incorporates profound themes of human nature, father and daughter relationships and the inevitability of fate. In addition, exposing students to a multitude of literary techniques, challenges students with difficult language and style, expresses a profound knowledge of human behavior and offers insight into the world around us. Simply stated, I believe students should study Romeo and Juliet in school because of the incredible value within the play.…

Today’s environment is polluted with many carbon and other pollutions harmful to humans and the environment. Many of these pollutions are mostly from transportation vehicles. More dangers are rising, causing global warming and health risks to be increased at a higher probability of it occurring. With gasoline becoming scarce and an abundant amount of pollution in the environment, transportation companies need to enforce and search for better ways that America can use alternative fuels for a cleaner and safer environment when using transportation.…

What is behind Photoshop? I was shocked after reading this article ‘We Are As Beautiful As Them‘ on 28/4/13. This article was a great idea about photoshop. I had been wondering the same thing. Magazines shouldn’t be doing to much photoshop to models but keeping their imperfections because no one is perfect. Men and women need to know that the photos has been retouched. People should realize that even these ‘perfect’ actresses and models are far from perfect. Editors just redefine their looks and create the image with their own version of perfection. Editors should keep the model’s both imperfections and perfections. San, Melbourne, Via Email MIranda Kerr Stops Modeling I was like a thunderbolt when I red this article ‘Could There Be A Next Miranda Kerr?’ on 1st April. I can’t believe that Miranda got kicked out of DJ company and VS. She was a really fantastic model. Miranda Kerr should continue to model for David Jones and Victoria’s Secret. Maybe both companies still need her because she has a sexy and attractive look and body. Australian international supermodel Miranda Kerr has been dropped out from David Jones company and Victoria’s Secret because of and ended contract that she signed to model for both companies for five years. Kendall Jenner, Suki Waterhouse, Laura James and Jessica Gomes was selected to be ‘The Next Miranda Kerr’. Jessica Gomes had already replaced Miranda in DJ company and could she also replace Miranda in Victoria’s Secret too? If Miranda wants to move on and keep being a model then thats her choice, but if she doesn't that is her own decision. San, Melbourne, Via Email…

It was announced that the raise of price were planned to bring fuel prices in line with the global market cost. Government can no longer provide more subsidies needed to maintain fuel prices at current levels following the spike in global crude oil prices. Crude oil prices have risen dramatically over the last few years, driven by the strong global demand, limited spare oil production capacity and continuing political instability in certain oil producing regions. It is also announced that with the money now saved by ending the subsidy, government will begin to make public transport cheaper and more convenient for public who wish to avoid paying for the more expensive petrol to fuel their personal automobiles.…
