In the short story Blackberries by Leslie Norris, the young boy is introduced as a very innocent character. Everything in his life seemed to flow nicely and he doesn't experience many troubles. The boy is being take for his first haircut, he is very excited because he is also being taken to buy a new cap. A few days later, he and his dad go berry picking for some blackberries. The boy decided that he wants to bring some home for his mother and he puts some blackberries in his cap.
However, when he arrived back at home, his mother saw that the new cap had been stained because of the blackberries and she got very mad. The boy saw how mad his mother was and then realized that it was because his new cap was ruined. The mother was so mad because
