Introduction

In our daily life, we use lots of electrical objects, such as, air cooler, electric fans, etc. In those objects, if there is leakage current, means, if a short circuit is made there, then the leakage current may cause a lot of harm to us. If unknowingly anyone touches the body of that object, definitely he will experience a shock, that can make question to his life also.
To prevent these types of accidents, we have developed a circuit, called LCI ( Leakage Current Indicator), which will alert us when there are some leakage currents.

WHAT IS LCI ?

LCI or Leakage Current Indicator is a circuit that alerts us if there is any leakage current in our electrical object. It is made of some cheap and simple components, so that, everyone can afford it. It`s equipments are cheap and available in our markets.
LCI is a system that will be placed in touch with our electrical object, connected directly with the neutral wire. If there is any leakage current, then it will act as phase to LCI, and it will start alarming us.

Working procedure of lci
The present invention uses a combination of resistances and capacitance to limit the level of AC leakage current present in the metal body of electric appliances. The output of current limiting circuit is then fed to a Bridge rectifier which converts AC into DC. Then DC output of Bridge rectifier is used to drive the audio-visual alarm circuit, connected in parallel. Audio alarm circuit uses a buzzer while visual alarm circuit uses a light emitting diode (LED) connected in series with current limiting resistance. Both, audio and visual alarm circuits provide a leakage current alarm (audio-visual) indication, which is proportional to the

This is an item of electrical test equipment used to determine if an electrical path can be established between two points; that is if an electrical circuit can be made. The circuit under test is completely de-energized prior to connecting the tester. The tester consists of an indicator in series with a source of electrical power - normally a battery, terminating in two test leads. If a complete circuit is established between the test-leads, the indicator is activated (the indicator may be an electric light or a buzzer).…

The Mobile Wireless Electrocardiogram (EKG) is a medical telemetry instrument used by medical personnel to monitor a patient’s EKG signal while allowing the patient to remain fully mobile and comfortable. This EKG measures small electrical signals from the patient’s chest caused by the heart beating. Using these signals, doctors and other medical staff can monitor the patient’s well being and predict future problems. While EKGs are commonly used in hospitals, many patients would benefit from the ability to perform usual tasks while remaining monitored on an EKG. In environments such as nursing homes and assisted living centers this technology would allow the elderly to retain their freedom of movement and still allow nursing staff to monitor important cases and patients. The wireless data relay ability would allow many patients to be monitored from a single base station with limited staff. This feature would be valuable to hospital administrators and management. With a small fleet of these devices an entire nursing home or hospital floor could be well looked after by a small nursing staff.…

Electrocution occurs when a small, specific amount of electrical current flows through the heart for 1 to 3 seconds. 0.006-0.2 Amps (i.e. 6-200 milliamps) of current flowing through the heart disrupts the normal coordination of heart muscles. These muscles lose their vital rhythm and begin a process known as ventricular fibrillation. Death soon follows.…

IE‐614 Midterm Exam Safety Engineering Spring 2012 1. Electric safety involves controlling 2 main hazards through one hazard is only evident under high voltage and current conditions. List them and describe some ways you can control the hazards. There are two main hazards of electricity are: electrical shock and electrical arcflash/blast. OSHA statistics show that several hundred deaths occur annually as a result of electrical shock. Over one-half of these deaths are the result of contact with low voltage, primarily 120-volts. Residential, commercial, industrial, farm, and utility accidents are included in these statistics. NIOSH statistics show that electrical contact results in 4,000 non-disabling and 3,600 disabling injuries annually in the United States. Many of the electrical shock accidents that occur in commercial and industrial facilities are the result of contact with 277-volts. This is due to the extensive use of 277-volt fluorescent lighting. Employees generally perform maintenance on these light fixtures without performing a proper lockout/tagout of the circuit. Studies also show that 10-15 employees are hospitalized every day with arc-flash burns, which are often catastrophic to the victims physically, psychologically, and financially. In reality, the hazards associated with the use of electricity are real and can affect anyone. Electrical shock - Electrical shock occurs when a person’s body completes the current path between two energized conductors of an electrical circuit or between an energized conductor and a grounded surface or object. Essentially, when there is a difference in potential from one part of the body to another current will flow. The effects of an electrical shock can vary from a slight tingle to immediate cardiac arrest. The severity depends on several factors: body resistance wet or dry skin are major factors of resistance, circuit voltage, amount of current flowing through the body, current path through the body, area of…

we study the following scenario: After giving a set of objects to agents, the distributor discovers some of those same objects in an unauthorized place. (For example, the data may be found on a website, or may be obtained through a legal discovery process.) At this point, the distributor can assess the likelihood that the leaked data came from one or more agents, as opposed to having been independently gathered by other means. Using an analogy with cookies stolen from a cookie jar, if we catch Freddie with a single cookie, he can argue that a friend gave him the cookie. But if we catch Freddie with five cookies, it will be much harder for him to argue that his hands were not in the cookie jar. If the distributor sees “enough evidence” that an agent leaked data, he may stop doing business with him, or may initiate legal proceedings. In this paper, we develop a model for assessing the “guilt” of agents. We also…

Electricity is one of the basic needs of every individual especially in this “digital” era wherein technology has taken place. It is important in houses, streets, mini-stores up to big companies. With it, we enjoy lighting for our home, and heat and cooling to keep ourselves comfortable, and access to the countless appliances that make our lives better. By powering television and computers, it keeps us in touch with the outside world, and by powering alarms and security systems, it keeps our homes and our families safe. Without it, we’d literally be in the dark. And yet despite its importance, we often take our electrical wiring for granted. When properly installed, an electrical system will provide years of service, but wear and tear always take their toll, and problems still arise from time to time. However, it is everyone’s responsibility to make sure that it is properly installed to ensure the safety of everyone. Faulty wiring is one of the causes of fire which commonly occurred in Mangagoy, Bislig City where most of the students of University of Southeastern Philippines-Bislig Campus resides.…
