Leadership Philosophy: Provide World-Class Service To Offer Success
1. The leadership philosophy in this essay is clear and easy to identify. I would summarize it as: Provide world-class service to enable customer success.
2. The director interview provides more than enough detail for later analysis.
3. The analysis of the interview was very detailed in that it provided resources used and answers all of the criteria requested.
4. No spelling errors were noted but one small error was annotated in the body of the paper. The template was followed and the sources were cited correctly.
5. The one area for improvement could be more personal experiences to support leadership philosophy. The positive is that the author does an admirable job of tying the interview to their personal leadership philosophy.

My leadership philosophy is about making genuine connections to people. In order to influence people to be great leaders, all the key factors should be tapped in to in some capacity. I make sure my actions speak louder than my word. I lead by example by rolling up my sleeves and showing team members I am not just an army civilian but a part of the team. This philosophy applies to my life whether at work or home. I credit these key factor as the core of becoming a great and effective…

There are many well know limitations on leadership and this is apparent in the way there is no clear cut explanation, or theory on the issue. Instead of sticking to the outdated ways of addressing these problems, the author comes at the problem in a different way. She takes insights from Continental philosophy, which questions the “purpose and meaning central to human life.” (1) Although she states that you do not need to be philosophical trained in order to understand the definitions, she recommends “engaging with an open and curious mind”, one piece of advice that when reading is highly encouraged! This continental philosophical approach is introduced in chapter 2 and explains its relevance for leadership research. She describes this approach as one that allows for understanding various sides and perspectives. By engaging with an open and curious mind as she requests, her discussion of leadership can be understood through the different “sides” that are ever apparent in assessing the styles, techniques, traits and characteristics that go into a…

The predominant worldview of leadership is that it is an opportunity to tell others what to do, and to control outcomes for personal gain or reputation enhancement. I do not share this view. I believe all leadership boils down to one word; influence. True leaders, those that serve others, are people who have a clear vision of what the future will be like and then work cooperatively with others to see and move toward a shared future. This is the essence of the leadership style that Jesus Christ modeled for us. He showed us a great vision for our future and then works intimately in our lives to help us on our journey toward that vision.…

The over-arcing theme for each of the leader’s view of servant leadership is that servant leadership is about getting the focus off self and into a focus on stewardship through guidance, with attention, intention, awareness – of self and others – with a large dose of serving versus being served as a leader.…

We all have the choice to lead or not. So the question becomes: Why does someone choose to lead? I believe the answer is, fundamentally, that they believe strongly enough in something that they want to take action and are willing to take on the responsibility of being a leader. Such is the case for me with regards to teaching. When I was young I simply wanted to be led. As I matured, however, opportunities to assume leadership roles presented themselves and, with support from my peers and mentors, I found myself taking them on and have grown to enjoy being a leader and helping those around me succeed.…

Taking ENES 317 has exposed me to lot of knowledge such as one leadership/Management skills, personality types, approaches to problems and decision making. In the past, I believed that leadership was a quality that could be learned and taught, but I also thought that leadership would best fit people with some personal trait such as charisma or personality of an extrovert people. With the knowledge gained from this leadership course, I came up with an individual Bill Gates who is successful in leading but an introvert, and he has successfully managed to influence others, who virtually revitalize our personal computers/phones and way of shopping. However, some of the things I knew about leadership before taking ENES317 was that a good leader should be open to new ideas, forgiving to his/her followers, and demonstrate humility. I still believe that without these qualities a leader can only become arrogant in their leadership that their behavior may isolate them from their followers. My focuses on this paper will be to analyze the self-assessments test taken in class and the leadership theories presented in class.…

Authentic leadership is a form of leadership that does not have a solid definition. This form of leadership is newly being researched, but the main focus is on how true or genuine the leader is. Because this leadership style is still in the formative stages of development, the description of this style is likely to change with more research in the upcoming years (Northouse, 2013).…

In my opinion, leadership is more than just someone who can enlist the aid of others to accomplish a specific task. It is a characteristic and a lifestyle of a person. True leadership is not displayed on days we feel like it. It is a constant display of ones actions to accomplish tasks and set an example for others to emulate. A leader is someone who can be turned to in the absence of knowledge or direction and will either have the answer or know where to get the answer.…

"I don't know what awaits us on the other side of that berm, but I'll tell you this. If I have to give my life for any of you I will do it in a heartbeat" (Murphy, 2008). An insert from the book In a Time of War told from a lieutenant in the U.S. Army moments before he leads his platoon into the invasion of Iraq. A position of leadership comes with many responsibilities other than just delegating work to people under you. One must have ethical values to be a fair and impartial leader for all that whom serve. This all ties into a person's philosophy of leadership. The leaders, all of whom will be independent in their own right but share common ground, can tell a view of their leadership. My view of leadership…
