Mahatma Gandhi once said that “eyes for an eye will only make the whole world blind” Gandhi points out how conflict can have consequences yet, it is in everything we do from sharing you opinions to playing a simple board game. Even trying to become more successful than others creates conflict for most people, and for some people this is what their whole life is based on. Conflict is all around us and we have to deal with it every day and knowing how to deal with it is very important.
In the short story “Lather that’s all” written by Hernando Tellez the author shows the challenge of conflict and how we need to balance conflict in the decisions we make. A lot of people can get really worked up with conflict because we usually want to be or do better than whatever is challenging us, and we want to do better because we can a sense of self-accomplishment or we get something out of it. A little bit of conflict can be good and entertaining like if one were to play sports or a board game. Too much conflict can be really bad because sometimes in can lead to a fight or a war and if we make the wrong decision we have to deal with the consciences.
Conflict can escalate really quickly and can happen at any time in the day. For this character he is presented with conflict right away and when the general first walks in he starts to panic “When I recognized him I start to tremble” this just goes to show how fast your day can change.
When presented with conflict you usually have a decision to make and the decisions can sometimes affect you in a big way .While the main character is shaving the general he can either kill or choose to go on with his own day. If he chooses to kill him then he will save rebels life and will be a hero amongst them, but he will be an enemy to the city and will have to move away from everything he cared for. If he chooses not to kill him then he will go out living his life but at the cost of lives. It won’t all ways be so extreme but when conflict
