The Largemouth Bass

I have chosen to do some research on the Largemouth Bass. I will give

you information that you will need to know about this topic. Here are some facts

about this wonderful fish. The Largemouth bass has a scientific name of Micropterus salmoides. This

fish is part of the sunfish family and yet it looks nothing like a sunfish nor acts

like a sunfish. Largemouth Bass can be found from southern Canada to Mexico but

have been introduced all over the world. It is widely believed to inhabit in shallow,

weed covered water. Most information about Largemouth Bass if coming from

They can depend on their color due to where they live and

spawning activity. Like most predators, their camouflage is extremely effective. It is

almost impossible to tell the differences between males and female bass but the

females are the larger gender. Largemouth Bass is the best known and most popular

game fish in North America. The world record for the Largemouth bass is 25.10 lbs.

that bass was foul hooked which means it didn't bite on the bait, it got snagged on it.

The real world record is 22 lbs 4 ounces. Bass can grow up to 20 lbs but it is very rare to find a 10lbs bass. They actually have 6 senses: Along with the usual, hearing,

seeing, smell, taste, and touch they also have the lateral line, which is a series of

sensitive nerve endings that extends from just behind the gill to the tail on each side

of the fish. Everybody always get all the bass mixed up but there are many types like

the Largemouth, Smallmouth, Black bass, White bass, etc. Bass from murky waters

usually are pale and the bass in the clear water are usually a darker color. Here at

the Lake, the bass are really pale and white on the belly. Scientists have proven

Now that I have told you some about the Largemouth bass, I will tell you all the

nicknames but I am trying to call them their real names and no nicknames. We have

the Largemouth, Smallmouth, Black, White, Striped, Hybrid, Shoal, and lots more I

can't think of off my head! I love to bass fish and I love to fish for bass! I am more of a

crappie/catfish guy but I have caught lots of bass. I just fish from my dock and i have

had most luck with a little rattle trap shinner sexy shad bait. If you are wondering, yes

sexy shad is a real bait look it up.

The males are very territorial. Largemouth Bass have interesting breeding

habits. The male will prepare the nest, usually in one to four feet of water. He will use

his fins to expose gravel, shells, or plant roots on the bottom, making a circle two to three feet wide. During the breeding season, each male prepares and builds a nest in

shallow water. Nests are generally very crude in design. Once the nest is built a

female swims near, and following an act of courtship, she lay her eggs in the

A reason is because he automatically sets up his fishing supplies as if it was a habit. He also seems very passionate and knowledgeable about fish. Another reason is because while he was on the date with Shelia he seemed much more focused on the fish than her. When he talked with Shelia about fishing instead of removing it from the boat he just hid it. During most of the boat ride he was dealing with the fish and pretending to listen to her. And a third reason he could choose the Bass is because in part of the story he refers to Shelia as a memory.…

When you are explaining an ecosystem you have producers, consumers, and decomposers. Producers are the plants and the tress in the ecosystem that provide the energy to the ecosystem. As for the desert the producers are cactus and grass. The consumers of the ecosystem are in three different kinds, they are herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. Herbivores are the consumers that eat plants which in the ecosystem that I chose are jackrabbits, mice, quail, and insects. The carnivores eat meat. The carnivores in my ecosystem are scorpions, snakes, and lizards. Omnivores eat both plants and animals. I do not have any of those in my food web. Then you have decomposers, which feed off of dead organisms. In my ecosystem that I chose, that would be hawks and coyotes. This is what is called the cycle of life within the desert ecosystem. When you talk about the problems that humans cause on any ecosystem, it would be the growth in the population. Every time we expand where we as humans live we move into their territory which changes the food web in a very drastic way.…

According to researchers, the presence of lure makes the fish very agitated and it compels the mighty Murray cod to eat the lure. This distressed and anxious nature of the Murray Cod fish makes it easy for the Murray cod lure to work easily and efficiently. One interesting tip for the use of Murray cod lures is to ponder the lure again and again at the same area. This agitates the cod even more and makes it to bite the lure with all its anger.…

Before starting to fish, one needs to make sure to have the right fishing reel. First, there is the spinning or fixed spool reel. The spinning reel can easily be identified by a fixed upright spool of fishing line hence the name “fixed spool”. The spinning reel is great for fishing in lakes, ponds, streams, and rivers. When using a spinning reel, try fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass, perch, and walleye. Then there is the reel for serious anglers, the big game reel. The big game reel is the number one tool to catch huge fish, as they are designed to be used in the sea and ocean to catch giant fish such as tuna, marlin, sailfish, and even sharks. Big game reels are not designed to be cast, but are designed for trolling which will be explained later.…
