Landfill Persuasive Essay
I personally think going green is the best way to go, why throw recyclebles away thats filling up the landfill in Gatesburg. Phoenix Arizona makes appoxametly 500 millian dollars a year by selling its recyclebles. It also will exspand the life of not only Gatesburg landfill, but landfills all over America. To start with, i have recycled many of times, its about the easiest thing i have ever done. So why throw it way support staying green for Gatesburg .it not only saves ur garbage can space, it helps the landfills from getting filled as fast. One day resources could get slim and every piece of plastic, paper, or any other material u recycle could go scarse for some unknown reason but, the more you recycle the more you help.

The worst that the have found was they found a raccoon with beer cans on its paws there was no fur, no skin, it's all flesh. Clearly almost everybody doesn't like to see animals suffer. That's why…

In this day and age, it is becoming more and more common to find recycling cans at your local restaurants and shopping malls. However, at ShopRite grocery stores there are none of these recycling cans to be found. It is alarming to see the amount of plastic bags, bottles, and papers that are simply thrown away without any thought into it. Every day when I am at work, I see countless amounts of plastic bags thrown away carelessly when in reality there…

If people were to recycle it would save so much money because it saves money the factories use to make a whole new product. Also saves money the government and communities use to clean up parks, lakes, beaches, and just regular streets. Not only can you save recycling money but you can also earn money by doing so by turning in cans, bottles, newspapers, electronics, and many other things to recycling programs around you. Another way you can help your environment and benefit yourself are Recycle Banks which offer rewards for points they give for each item you recycle so the more you recycle the more points you get to spend on whatever you want.…

According to Should the U.S. Scrap the Recycling program, “It’s more expensive and takes more energy and water to recycle old paper than to cut down and process pine trees and then plant pine seedlings.” When going through the recycling process it can cost more money than actually making a new product. For example, most recycling centers are sorted by hand, causing for people to have to pay for constant salaries. Even if we switch to machines to save more money, it will still cost a great deal of money. Although this does create more trash, landfills might not be a huge problem in the future. As you can see there are some negatives to having the recycling program.…

In todays world it is common knowledge of the issues with recycling and pollution. However, there is a way to help slow down the process of over-running our earth. A new initiative is being spoken about, three trash cans for each method of recycling:compost, paper and plastic, and landfill. Other ways include recycling centers, projects for turning your no longer useable items into recycled treasures. I firmly believe in adopting and putting these into practice in our United States with only minor changes. We only have one earth so we have to take care of it.…

Every year, more than 300 million tons of plastic is made, this poses as a threat when you take a look at how much of this plastic is only intended to be used once and thrown away. Throughout the entire planet, plastics are being used more often and are being thrown away rather than using the recycling bin. When you throw these plastics away, they are taken to a landfill which often times will bury the garbage underground; nevertheless, although you can no longer see the plastic waste, it is still taking a toll on our health. Burying these products creates issues with the ground water that we humans, as well as our pets and other animals, drink from. When the plastics are buried in landfills, they have the potential to leak harmful chemicals into the ground water. Not only do these plastics effect our ground water, but they often times will find their way to the ocean if the landfill is found near a beach. The trash that has found its way to an ocean can float for thousands of…

High-level waste is from the burning of uranium fuel in a nuclear reactor (Dixon). It contains the dividing products and trans elements generated in the reactor. It is highly radioactive and hot due to excess heat, so it requires shielding and cooling. It has thermal power and can be considered as the ash from burning uranium. The radioactive waste problem is not a new safety and health concern. It has been mixed with radioactive materials throughout the twentieth century (Dixon). Such concerns have existed almost from just the discovery of radioactivity in 1895, when a German physicist,…

Between 1960 and 1986 the amount of American trash has grown 80% from 87.5mill tons to 157 tons per year, not including the 90 million tons created by industry every year. In 1988 over 70% of the landfills were closed, the US government then had to figure out how we were going to deal with this huge amount of trash each year. The 4 main solutions they came up with were opening more landfills, incineration, shipping out of the country, and oh yeah Recycling. Three out of these four were very bad, both ecologically and ethically. But the fourth one on the other hand was very good, it reduced energy use to make knew products, saved the wilderness by not dumping trash on it, and best of all created basically new products without almost any waist.…
