Kiwi Essay

Now that Kailani is going to start her journey to find her father, her trusty dog Kiwi goes along for the ride. She is a white furred, green eyed female dog that follows Kailani wherever her heart desires. Kiwi was her mother’s dog, but when she passed away, Kiwi became Kailani’s sidekick. Kiwi gives Kailani the comfort and courage to be able to conquer anything. She sleeps with her, walks with her, and gives off the resemblance of her mother. Though Kailani may not have a mother, she does have a companion. Kiwi.
Kailani has made it through many rough times with Kiwi. Kiwi gave Kailani the confidence to take on the world, even when her mother passed. She was able to lift her spirits when she was down. One day while she was giving Kiwi a walk,
Once the hike is planned, she packs herself a bag filled with water, food, and safety equipment. She then decides to bring Kiwi along with her. Kailani and Kiwi then get into a car, and drive off to the first volcano located on their map. At first, she can't find the volcano and she wonders to herself,
“Are we going the wrong way Kiwi?”
Kailani then stops the car, and looks again closely at her map. She then realizes her mistake! She located the most famous tourist attractions instead of the volcanos. Noticing her mistake, Kailani starts locating every volcano there is in Maui. Finally, she gets a list of names and locations. Now knowing where she is SUPPOSED to go, she starts driving to the first location. Haleakala.
This is one of the largest volcanoes in Honolulu, and one that she must conquer first. Once she is close to her first ever volcano climb, she stops to get some more gas for her car, and maybe some more snacks. Then, Kailani starts the car back up and they both continue on their journey to Haleakala.
Finally, they arrived. Kailani is a little nervous, but determined to find the clue and get her father. Kiwi is also a little scared, but Kailani knows she’ll get through
