He dedicated his life to strengthen his father’s image and his power in the government no matter what he had to do to get peoples attention. Kim started making and developing nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. Kim also sponsored terrorism and demanded absolute obedience and respect from the people. To show that Kim would not be fooled with he planned a bombing in 1983 Rangoon, Burma which left seventeen South Korean government officials dead, and another bombing in 1987 of a Korean airlines flight that killed everyone on board. Trujillo is having everyone killed” (Alvarez 78). Trujillo was also had an international impact, which was not always a peaceful matter. “El Jefe cannot afford any more international trouble right now” (Alvarez 244). While Truman and the world were focusing their efforts on eastern Europe, unbeknownst to them, one of the many ramifications of China’s recent civil war was the rise of communist party leader Mao Zedong. When the Chinese had “fallen victim to” the spread of communism, Truman was convinced that he would have no other choice but to protect South Korea in their struggle against the Soviet-backed North Korea by entering into the Korean…

It’s a cold morning on November 29,1952 as I’m woken up by the radio announcing that President- Elect Truman was going to fly to Korea. I thought to myself he must have a death wish and is already becoming president. The Koreans despise the united states so much right now. I wondered what gave him that this crazy idea to fly and try to make peace with the Koreans. Then I started to remember when Eisenhower basically challenged him to come up with a different way to solve the problem.…

When he was the president he led the United States through the tensions of the Cold War. Eisenhower had to lead America through all the propaganda, threats, and countries that were trying to start another war right after World War II. During the Cold War he also had to command the United States army and give them commands. This was normal work for Eisenhower since he was raised in the military and was one of the most well known war generals. He was known especially for his leadership and how we would command his troops. This is how he became a five star general in the matter of five years because he was being rewarded for his leadership. Eisenhower made a truce with Korea after the Korean war. To this day we still have a truce and are alliances with Korea. Eisenhower also formed the modern ways that we see Republicanism today. This is a big thing because the United States using Republicanism for so many things.(White…

Those are two things that North Korea does not have because the government is neglectful of its people. North Korea has not had a happy history. Before communism took over, they were under Japanese military rule (Sarah Pruitt). Most Koreans were peasants working on farms. Now, only North Korea is going to control North Korea. One family has been dominating the nation since its independence. The Kim dynasty has ruled for years and will continue to rule for as long as they possibly can. The Kim family has used their power to brainwash the Korean citizens into thinking they are the greatest leaders to ever live. This is manipulative and neglectful, it does not show trust between leader and citizen. If a citizen believed in the leader of their country, they would not need to be brainwashed to think that…

Machiavelli also states that “it is much safer to be feared than to be loved when one of the two must be lacking.” This advice, on the other hand, is reliable today. A recent leader who is feared by the public is Kim Jong-Il of North Korea. Kim Jong-Il is known for being a totalitarian dictator, giving his people little to no political rights or civil liberties. He has also forced women into marriage, mandated abortions, tortured his people, executed citizens publicly, and used forced labor in prison camps. The fear of Kim Jong-Il and his incredibly strict and derogatory regulations allowed him to rule over North Korea without being assassinated by his people. Kim Jong-Il proves that being feared can be more effective than being loved by the people.…
