Kids Under The Age Of Facebook Research Paper
Researchers at VeriSign’s iDefense group found a hacker making people pay around 20 dollars for Facebook users and passwords. If you were a kid under the age of 13 that has Facebook, would you want your user and password being sold to strangers? I think kids under the age of 13 should not have Facebook.

There are many reasons why kids under the age of 13 should not have Facebook and here is one. There are many Facebook accounts that are fake. Scammers are making fake profiles on Facebook. In 2011 a consumer reported surveys found over 7.5 million kids under the age of 13 using Facebook, half of those kids or 12 years old and one-third of those kids are 11 years old. There use Facebook with their parents’ knowledge and making fake accounts and faking their age.

There is sexting on Facebook, kids might not know what that is and join in and you could get in a lot of trouble. Facebook has inappropriate adds because the think that kids 13 and older have Facebook.

Overall Facebook is dangerous. Some other reasons why it is dangerous is the potential for crime is real. Internet Crime Complaint Center said “Victims of internet-related crimes lost 559 million dollars in 2009”. Also 1,004 children and 43 percent of them were questioned by The Social Age study by knowthenet.org.uk said they had messaged strangers online, started at the age of 12.

I think children under the age of 13 should not have Facebook, but other people might say that it is good for kids. It allows them to interact with other people. That might not be the best thing for children because people that they interact with might pressure them to send them an inappropriate picture of him or herself. Overall Facebook is dangerous and might not be the best thing for your

Now when it comes to social networks being healthy and largely harmless I do not agree. Social networking sites can have some health risk as well as harm, it can cause stress, weight problems, cyberbullying and identity theft. There has been times when my nieces come home from school they go right to the computer instead of doing homework or they say they don 't have any just so they can get on the computer to get on these different sites like facebook. They will sit in front of the computer from the time they get in the house until its time to go to bed, and when my sister calls there names they don 't answer its like everything around them stops but the…

Social Media should not allow users under the age of 18. I disagree, Social Media should allow users under the age of 18. Your question to me is why? Well, I have a few reasons on why should they allow user under age. My first reason is because many users have the time to talk to their friends and they can communicate. My second reason is that many users are just nosy and want to see what is going on around the world. My third reason is that many users like to chat and meet new people, or even if their parents don't allow them to talk to their aunties or cousins they can communicate with that person on social media. Having Social Media is a big help to kids when they really want to talk to people they might know.…

Many teenagers love social media because of its wide connectivity and function that people can receive it for free; it does not require money to make an account and use it. Facebook is the most visible among various social media. What’s impressive about this site is that you can easily connect with your long lost friends and see how they’re doing, or vice versa. You can also make new friends in Facebook. Though this could get addictive and may divert our attention away from the real world. Like what Cornell University’s Steven Strogatz said; “Social media sites can make it more difficult for us to distinguish between meaningful relationships we foster in the real world, and the numerous casual relationships formed through social media.” I strongly agree with this statement. Also, people become a whole new person, because it’s the Internet. People can be anything or anyone in the Internet.…

Children cannot take all the responsibility of having social media accounts. Children agree on terms that they don’t even fully understand. In social media, children will be exposed to different ideas that they may not also understand yet. We know that children follow what adults do. Children can learn from other people. People add information to their own profiles to make them interesting. They do these without considering the risks of doing so. Children wanted to be cool too and follow what other people do. Children are giving information to the public and sometimes it would be too much that it breaks their right to privacy. Sometimes, out of children’s illiteracy, they share their password with other people. I even experienced it when I was still in elementary. My friends and I exchanged email addresses and passwords just for fun. Then I realized when I was in high school that passwords are not to be…

I consider it very important to stick with the guidelines you set with a teen. If I tell my child that they are not to lie about their age on Facebook and they choose to do so, their account will closed. Freedom can be a wonderful thing for teens, but as a parent it is crucial to remember that their safety is your number one priority. I do think if you are completely honest with them about the reasons for your rules, and they are truly for their own safety, then there will not be problems. Honestly in 2015, teens need to learn about responsible social media behavior as much as they need to learn any other life skill. Avoiding the Internet is just not a practical option…

Facebook has become a place where everyone wants to be nowadays. Not only is it wrong to be on there every single day, it is also unhealthy, which is why Facebook should be banned. People no longer care about going out and making friends. Instead, they rather stay inside and become friends with people they do not even know on Facebook. These kinds of actions can be really dangerous. People can easily create Facebook accounts, meaning that it is also easy to portray someone they’re not. No one ever knows who really is sitting behind that computer screen. Especially young people, they can be ignorant at times thinking they know their friends good enough to give them their information. Most people are unaware of how easy it is for a stranger to collect all of their information. Another bad thing about Facebook is all the drama it can cause between friends, families, or any kind of relationship. It is sad how arguments are posted for the whole world to see. Teenagers every so often lie about their age just so they do not have to ask for their parent’s approval. This in most cases happens because teenagers are doing things they’re not suppose to. In addition, people sometimes tend to hide their identities on purpose to do unpleasant things such as stalking, and bullying. There are also sick people who create fake Facebook accounts to harass little kids. Facebook is not good anymore. Many people are taking advantage of it and it is better for it to be shut down for good. No one needs Facebook, anyone can survive without it. It is healthier to be out there living life than sitting behind a computer talking about it. It would certainly make a change if Facebook were banned…

Giving their parents the passwords to their social networking accounts takes away a teenager's sense of freedom. It also would make them feel as though their parents did not trust them. If a parent allows their child to use social media, chances are the child is old enough to handle themself responsibly without extreme levels of parental control and interference. They are not babies. While parents should be aware of their children's online activities, there is a line that should not be crossed. Increased levels of parental involvement in their child's social networking, such as knowing the passwords, is taking things too far.…
