Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
~Confucius
It was the third day of July when I had my first day of on-the-job training. It was already too late compared to my classmates who already started months ahead. There I was walking inside the premises of Networld Hotel not knowing where I will be having my on the job training. After I have read the contract and signed my official DTR care of Networl Hotel, I was ushered to the ground floor. It was like I was having a heart attack, I felt very nervous because although this is my second practicum, the environment that i’ll be working with is a lot different from the first one.
I was assigned in the Kai Shu Japanese Restaurant. I was introduced to Ma’am Ana Feliza Seva their F&B Manager. My first week turned out to be a very good one. They were all very friendly and smiling which makes the atmosphere of the restaurant smooth and light.

~Adlai Stevenson
It feels so good when people tell you that you are pretty, that you have nice shoes or long beautiful silky hair. Yes, it is good hearing those. You’d feel so flattered your smile over extends to your ears. But what’s better is when people compliment you not because of your physical assets; instead they compliment you because of your qualities and abilities which make you different from all the rest.
Being complimented for doing a good job is really a rewarding feeling. It makes you think that people you work with really does appreciate you for being there. There are days when the restaurant gets a lot of guests, we the OJT’s were given the task of room service, food deliveries and dining assistant of the waitresses. For that whole period they were really vocal on telling us that they were very thankful that they have very alert OJT’s and that they can always rely on us.
But despite all these praises, we have kept in mind to always be

The first visit, was with my entire family, making it a party of nine. There was no room for such a large party, but the manager made it work and got us a table within ten minutes. One of the waiters went over quickly and noted our drinks down, and under five minutes everyone was sipping on their drinks. After ordering, the food took about fifteen to twenty minutes to arrive at our table. Everything looked and smelled delicious, my mouth got watery instantly. The tortillas and guacamole were made right in front of us. From the host to the waiter, service was wonderful. They smiled genuinely every time.…

    | JAQUES Well then, if I’ve ever thanked a man, I’ll thank you now. But two men complimenting each other is like two baboons getting together. Whenever a man compliments me, I feel like he’s a beggar and I just gave him a penny—an embarrassing exchange. Come on, sing—and those of you who won’t sing, shut up.…

The first three weeks in my clinical placement at Facility, I have already gained a lot of practical experience that is different from what I am familiar with. During our orientation at the facility, we met the nurse manager of the third floor who is courteous enough to share a little bit of information about working in the facility and how the system works in the long- term care facility. The nurse manager even told us, that she is also an international educated nurse. Knowing this has inspired me to become successful in my chosen career.…

The staff really knows what they are talking about when it comes to helping out. The hosts are accurate when answering questions like how long the wait is, making small talk and bringing customers to their seats kindly and respectfully. The servers are also well informed when it comes to helping out with questions on the menu. They are very knowledgeable and answers to the best of their ability. The food is brought to the customer in a timely manner. The personnel clears plates or anything finished that’s in the way, as well as checks on the customer so the patron has a satisfying time. Often the managers will come up to the customers and ask how everything is going and if they are satisfied. The behavior of the workers creates a pleasant feeling to know they take their time and shows appreciation of the customers by making sure they are happy. The Olive Garden service is phenomenal.…
