BACKGROUND
McDonald’s is a leader in convenient foods and beverages, with revenues of about $23 billion, over 1.6 million employees serving the customer’s all over the globe. The company consists of the snack business of Beverages and Foods. This brand is available in nearly 115countries having more than 24,500 restaurants in the world which provides 24 hour service.
McDonald’s’s success is the result of high quality products, high standards of performance, distinct competitive strategies and the high integrity of its people. Approximately 85% of McDonald’s restaurant businesses worldwide are owned and operated by franchisees. All franchisees are full-time operators and self-contained. The mission of the company is to be the world's top most consumers Products Company focused on convenient foods and beverages. It seeks to produce hale financial rewards to investors as it provides opportunities for growth and enrichment to its partners, its employees and the communities in which it operates.
Andrew J. McKenna is the chairman of McDonald’s Corporation since April 2004.The corporation revenues come from the rent, royalties and payment paid by franchises, McDonald revenues grew 27% over 3 years ending in 2007, 22.8 billion, 9% growth in operating yield to 3.9 billion.

McDONALD’s INDIA
McDonald’s has 132 restaurants in India of which 79 are in North & East India and 53 in West and South India. McDonald’s India is a company owned locally and managed by Indians. In Delhi, McDonald’s restaurants operate under Vikram Bakshis, Connaught Plaza restaurants Pvt. Ltd. This company is responsible for the running of McDonald’s India.
