Jim Morrisons Accomplishments
Title
Jim Morrison has been arrested several times (Simons, 2008). Its seems obvious that he followed his own rules and he has proven that throughout his career and lifetime. Along with his struggles he has also had many musical accomplishments. As the Doors made some of the best rock and roll songs of all time, they modified rock and roll with their own rules as they caught people’s attention.
The two major members of the Doors had met at school. Jim had enrolled in film school at UCLA in 1964. He was overweight and obsessed in poetry and philosophy (Talevski, 2014). Before the Doors, Ray had already been infatuated in music. He played vox-organ with his brother Rick in a band called, Rick and the Ravens. John and Robbie have always been noticed the least out of the group. Robbie played guitar and John was the hyped up drummer. They both had been recruited from Ray when the band was first being created (Simons, 2008).
Along with the Doors’ catchy songs, trouble very often came along the way. Jim had a problem with authority and freedom. He said that “the most important kind of freedom is the freedom to be who you really are.” He never agreed with laws. Depression also put a tool on his life. He began drinking heavily and taking drugs. After a while he stopped all the drugs, but kept on drinking. He gained a lot of weight and lost that certain Lizard King look. With the drinking he got drunk of course. Album production was always being held up with the ongoing drinking and difficult attitude (Simons,

Jimi Hendrix was one of the most influential and talented musicians of the 20th century, and through his work he made rock music what it is today. His talent with a guitar was what made him so popular in his own time. The reason he became a rock and roll legend in the 20th century was because of his new style, outrageous performances and his powerful lyrics which captivated his audiences. His new style of music involved, "...the extensive use but sensitively nuanced use of feedback, distortion, and other electronically manipulated sound effects." ("Hendrix, Jimi"). Some found the performances he put on to be crazy or insane, but his fans found them to be inspiring. Nevertheless, "The true power of his genius lay in his musical and lyrical candor." (Fricke).…

By 1982, rock had stayed strong through the thick and thin. Rock survived everything from the initial shock of the first rock stars in 1950, the fall of rock and roll on the day the music died, and through the onslaught of subgenre phases such as the psychedelic era, disco fever, and the emotional punk days. By the early 1980s things were looking really good for the rock and roll music industry. By this time rock was not seen as a revolution, and it was thought to be mainstream. This thought brought the new era of alternative rock music. With every new musical era there are certain bands and artist that make a huge impact on the music world and everyone around them. For the alternative era the biggest influences were U2, R.E.M., and Bruce Springsteen.…
