Jessica said this quote.
What a horrible person I am to be ashamed of being the daughter of shylock. I am a blood related to him, but I am not related to his behavior If Lorenzo keeps his promise, I will end my suffering, and become a Christian and his loving wife.
Jessica says this quote when she finishes talking to Launcelot in Act two scene three in her father's house. Jessica talked to Launcelot about how she does not blame him for leaving the hell of a house they live in. After he left Jessica reveals a new twist to the play by saying that she will be leaving her father for Lorenzo, who is a Christian. She also reveals that she will become his wife as well and become a Christian. This is important to the play since it adds a new subplot

The prison door is important to the Puritan social order, whose unbendable certainty condemns and confines Hester. Like the door (oak is among the heaviest and most grounded of woods), the Puritans are fearless in their moral quality and along these lines, unsympathetic in their judgements. The iron spikes reinforce this delineation, drawing in thought with respect to the gathering's merciless judgements and reformatory character. The usage of oak in the line emphasizes the centrality of the prison and its importance in their world.…

It is possible for someone to become so consumed by revenge that his health suffers. He has been wronged by someone and believe in “tit for a tat”, so they choose getting even instead of forgiveness. This may seem like the easiest and fairest way to live life, but it can completely occupy lives and cloud judgment. Roger Chillingworth chose to take revenge on Dimmesdale (for the affair the minister had with his wife) in Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel The Scarlet Letter. His need for revenge becomes unnatural and his hatred for Dimmesdale eventually ruins him over the course of several years.…

Have you ever found a character, maybe in a tv show, or book, that you can relate to the most (especially by a landslide)? Some people could say yes to the moon and back, while some people have never related that much to a character in their life. For me, I’m more of the former, and I found a character to relate to in To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee; Scout Finch. To explain, Scout and I take longer than others to understand things, which could cause frustration in others (mainly peers), and we’re both put under at least some pressure to be more “lady-like”. There’s other similarities too, but they’re either not as significant or I couldn’t find as much quotes to support them.…
