Jane Goodall Research Paper
Brief Family Background:
Jane Goodall was born April 3, 1934 in London, England. She was raised in a close knit family and was greatly influenced by her mother, Vanne and grandmother, Danny. Jane has a sister 4 years younger, they share the same birthday. She first started her interest in chimpanzees when her dad, Mortimer bought Jane a stuffed animal chimpanzee. She named it Jubilee after a chimp at the zoo. Jane was automatically attracted to animals at a young age and continued her passion at Cambridge University. She studied primatology, ethology, and anthropology. Jane is most famous for her 45 year study of social and family interactions of wild chimpanzees in Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania. She is always calm, focused, and thinking about others before herself. Jane also encourages true freedom, doesn’t use pressure, and overall motivates people to do their best.
Effectiveness as a Leader:
Jane is continually changing the world and how people think about it. She made a program for young people called, “Roots n’ Shoots” encouraging students to participate in helping their environment around them. She established the, “The Jane Goodall Institute” in Uganda Africa. To help families struggling with poverty receive doctors, shelter, food, and a good education.
Weaknesses and Strengths:
A weakness that Jane Goodall might have had is emotions. Her parents divorced when she was 15 making money an issue when it was at its worst during World War II. Emotions would also deal with; Jane dedicating her whole life to her studies and helping people, so she really didn’t have that big of a social life and or personal life.
Strengths are that she basically impacted billions of animals and human lives, and she is still working to help
