Jack The Ripper
Between August 30, 1888 and November 10, 1888, the murders of five women took place. All of which happened in or near the Whitechapel district of London’s East End. These heinous crimes were suspected to be committed by one person, Jack the Ripper. He or she disemboweled and mutilated the bodies of Annie Chapman, Mary Ann Nichols, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Kelly. To this day Jack the Ripper’s identity is a mystery. Jack the Ripper’s first and second victims were Mary Ann Nichols and Annie Chapman. Both ladies turned to prostitution as a result of losing the funding they received from their ex-husbands. Mary Ann Nichols, at forty-three, was found on August 31, 1888 with her throat cut and several injuries across her abdomen. …show more content…
Both bodies were murdered and found on September 30, 1888. Elizabeth, a prostitute since 1864, was forty-five when her mutilated corpse was found. He throat was cut and a large incision was made, running from her neck down to her thigh. Catherine Eddowes traveled from town to town selling cheap books, and at forty-six she was murdered by Jack the Ripper. Her throat was also cut and some of her viscera were placed around her corpse. Jack’s fifth and final victim was Mary Kelly. Mary kelly was a twenty-five year old prostitute. She was found on November 10, 1888 in her lodging. Her throat was, too, cut out and her torso split open. The found her intestines on a table next to the bed where she lay, and her clothes and boots neatly folded near the fire. This concluded the official murder spree of Jack the Ripper.
The police would often received letters from anonymous senders claiming to be Jack the Ripper, though many scientists believe they are fake. Despite many investigations involved with Jack the Ripper, his identity and motive for butchering these women are still unknown. Many people have thought up conspiracies as to who Jack the Ripper is and why he murdered. Police don’t even know if the culprit is male or female. It’s been 129 years since Whitechapel’s incident and we still don’t know Jack the Ripper’s

By the end of the murders, the suspect pool had been narrowed to Robert D’Onston, and later, Joseph Barnett, who was considered a credible suspect. Joseph Barnett had lived and worked less than a mile from the heart of Whitechapel, the site of most of the murders. Barnett was not a suspect at the time of the murders, but he was later declared a suspect in the 1970’s (Barbee). They suspected him due to the fact that he was married to Mary Kelly, who late became a victim. Barnett was a fisher and Kelly did not work, but once Barnett lost his job Kelly was forced to become a prostitute to support the both of them. They moved to 13 Millers Court, which is where, after a fight she and Barnett had, Kelly turned up dead and mutilated. Robert D’Onston,…

There have been over one hundred different suspect. Although there are many theories, none of them have been proven to be all that convincing. Some theories suggest that the killer was a doctor, or maybe an upper-class man who came into the Whitechapel area from a more advanced area. Some people think that he was a common worker, such as a butcher, who lived in the area. “Many of the alleged suspects were proposed years after the investigation took place, having been linked by contemporary documents, or any other remote connection to the case” (Whitechapel Jack.) Modern day authors can now propose anyone as a suspect without accountability, being as how anyone that lived around the time of the Jack the Ripper murders have long been dead.…

It has been 125 years since the Ripper murders occurred; it is amazing how much of the area has managed to survive since 1888. A quote from a letter about how Jack the Ripper kills his victims, “Jack's knife flashes, then there's but one, and the last one's the ripest for Jack's idea of fun.” It is clear from the evidence from the letters that he wrote to the authorities, authorities conclude that Jack the Ripper didn’t only murder for fun, but he thought it as his work as seen through his method of operation and his types of victims. Perhaps the true identity of this mysterious murderer will never be…

An article written in 2007 was one of the first published after the murder of Meredith Kercher. This article has valid information; however, important details were left out which made Amanda seem guilty. NBC did a respectable job at walking the reader through Merediths murder. They mentioned suspects, cause of death, and interviewed detectives, suspect’s friends, relatives, and Meredith’s family. Meredith was murdered the night of November 1, 2007. Stabbed in the throat with a knife after refusing to play in a drug induced group sex game, she was found November 2, a horrific bloody, half naked mess. Police concluded that the knife wound caused her to drown in her own blood leading to misery and pain that could have lasted for over two hours (Murphy Denis). There are four suspects for the murder of this young woman: Rafaelle Sollectio, Patrick Lumumna , Amanda Knox and Rudy Hermann Guede.…
