Iserach Paper: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Isearch Paper - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

What's a CNA? Some people think Certified Nursing Assistants aren't very important but that's not the case. Do you know what CNA’s do on a daily? In my English class everyone was assigned to write a three page Iserach paper on a topic of your pick. A Isearch paper isn't the same as a research paper. A Isearch paper is a paper that consist more of the process you went through to get the research rather than the research you actually got. I chose CNA as my topic because i plan on becoming a CNA in my High School vocational class next year. I figured i could go ahead and have some prior knowledge before I get take that class. At first i was extremely confused about what a Isearch paper was but then i realized i was only overthinking it.

Prior to writing this paper i already knew a few things about being a CNA. My friend Vivian is a CNA she told me plenty of

In my opinion the dictionary definition does not describe half of what a nurse actually is, or what a nurse actually does. I believe that the dictionary needs to come up with a better, more detailed definition of “nurse”. It made me feel upset when i read that because that definition doesn't give nurses enough credibility that they deserve.
I had to read a fifth grade level book from my Middle school library, because my High School library didn't have a book about CNA or nursing. The book i read was titled “People Who Care for Our Health, Nurses” and honestly i believe that this book had good information in it, even though its a fifth grade level book. It had information about different types of nurses, where they traveled, what they did, etc. i enjoyed reading about nurses, even though my topic was CNA, maybe one day i will continue with my career and become a

Some new concepts I learned from Dr. Brandy Mechling presentation were, nurses have a general scope of practice to complete. My first job was working as Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). I started working in the field when I graduated high school. A close friend introduced me to the nursing field. My friend said the job didn’t require much education, you just had to like working with people. I thought well, I am really good with people, I thought this should be easy. I worked as a CNA for about five years, and I realize that the job didn’t offer any challenges. I felt as if I wasn’t really going anywhere, I just had a job. I decided that maybe if I had a specialty that I would feel more challenged. I decided to become a hospice CNA. A hospice CNA cares for patients in the end stages of life. Well, I didn’t know what I was signing up for. I didn’t realize…

I learned that no matter what, life is cruelly unfair. I took care of people who were only fifty, yet could no longer eat or speak. I learned that working as a team is important especially in healthcare, no one person should be expected to go it alone. There is so much to be learned from listening to fellow aides and workers; their understanding of the situations that I found myself in helped me learn and adapt my ways of care. I learned to be cautious and pay attention to details to slow down and to be patient. Most importantly I have learned to speak up and make sure that I am heard when I know that something should be changed for the betterment of those involved. I was always told if it does not seem right then it probably is not. The responsibility of someone’s life depends on the decisions that are made throughout the course of a healthcare professional’s day. I am thankful to have had a job that has taught me to stand up for what is right and to speak my mind in order to care for people to the best of my ability. Being a CNA has changed my life and I will never forget the experiences I had and values that I learned my first day, and even my entire first year, of being in the healthcare…

Even after a few weeks, the class has taught me so much about being a nurse. Learning to care for the elderly at the nursing home has taught me to have more respect for senior citizens. It was a real eye opener to see how difficult it can be to get old. Some of the residents in the nursing room are very coherent; they just cannot do things for themselves, an example of this would be eating and bathing. I can only imagine how frustrating that would be, having to count on others to help you with daily tasks. Probably the most beneficial lesson the CNA class has taught me is hard work is worth the effort. I’ve learned that most things in life are going to be difficult at times, but if you look past the hard work, life can be exceptionally rewarding. Last week while giving a blind man a bed bath, I was having a tough time because he was hitting and not cooperating. I was getting frustrated and wanted to quit; when I finally finished, he said “thanks”. This was very rewarding because I knew that my work was being appreciated by…
