is tv bad or not
Television could be a dangerous influence. There are many bad aspects of television news. At the same time it could be a good influence because we can learn skills like cooking and other activities that kids enjoy. Back in the days television was a great invention but it has become a major problem for the society. In my opinion it's a dangerous influence because it changes people's mind, sometimes television don't inform the right programs or information and it shows violence, obesity and brain development.

Television must of the time don't show to the society the right things that are happening. They show edit videos that doesn't tell us the truth and make us think different. The Governments usually use the media such as Tv to generate false news just to get public support. The news often are negative. These false news that can be produced by foreigner or local governments just for only to attract the attention of the society into believing that they're telling the truth.

Most of the programs or cartoons that television shows contain violence or aggression. Children are going to start to believe that violence doesn’t really hurt others. Television reduces the value of life. I have seen that tv makes death seem funny and unreal. Children don't learn to respect life because of the violence that television shows. Children can't tell the difference between real and unreal, people that are on the tv are actors and the story that they're telling is not true. How can children tell the difference between real violence and the make believe violence. There are a lot of young children that are unable to realize that when a character attacks someone it is not real, many young children still believe in the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus. If children are always viewing their favorite characters using violence or aggression to get what they want, children will do the same.

The television has taken over the most important past time for kids and adults. Kids used to

We know that for the most part, children learn from both experience and social learning or role modeling. Therefore, when children, especially young children, see violence on television, they have a difficult time differentiating between what is real or what is make believe, and tend to emulate or copy what they are seeing. Furthermore, there is a chemical change in the brain, similar to that which is seen in post-traumatic stress disorder; if enough violence is viewed, the brain reacts as if the person doing the viewing has actually been abused. This is especially true if the violence is one sided, as in the case of sadistic violence. Now add to this the fact that children who watch violence on television have brains that are still developing, and you can see how really dangerous TV viewing can be.…

I believe that television can influence children in good and bad ways. Depending of what types of shows and channels the kids are watching it could actually be a good thing. If a child is only allowed to watch kids shows, and kids’ channels they won’t learn anything bad. If children are just watching shows like Dora the Explorer and Jake’s Neverland Island, they aren’t going to learn anything bad; they may actually learn things that are beneficial. With Dora the Explorer they learn problem solving and also get introduced to some Mexican culture and Spanish. If you were to let a child watch adult shows though, it may not turn out very well. For instance, if you let a little girl grow up watching shows like Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant, they grow up thinking that the way these girls act is ok, because hey, if they’re on TV, they must be doing something right.…

I can remember when I was younger, coming home from school into the house to change clothes and head back out the door to play. Any entertainment I received was what I experienced outside. When I came into the house, I was able to watch very little television. The most television I was able to watch was on Saturday mornings and it was cartoons. Today, the young and old come home and the first thing they do is turn on the television set. According to a survey done by Emory H. Woodard and Natalia Grindina, “on average, people are watching over 51 hours of television- that is five hours a day of TV on average for the last quarter of the year. Teenagers (12 to 17) spend 103 hours watching TV a month, whereas senior citizens (65 or older) spend 207 hours”(Media in the home) With the slumping economy, people are forced to stay at home to conserve resources. Although there are plenty of economical alternatives people could do, the world would much rather increase their television watching.…

Violence has become a major part of television shows increasing regularly. Many may think that it is only the shows that get the warning “viewer discretion is advised” are bad influences on people but I believe that all shows can have a negative influence. For example, in the 90’s cartoon show Spiderman, all he ever did was tie villains up with his webs. In today’s cartoon he hits them and draws blood when fighting the villains. As innocent as cartoon shows may seem I have seen the increase in violence in these shows. Children, especially young, are not ready to distinguish right from wrong so when their favorite action hero is beating up a bad guy, therefore kids get the impression that it is all right to do the same. Witnessing repeated violent acts can lead to desensitization and lack of empathy for human…
