IS PROOF FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD NECESSARY When we talk religion or Christianity one of the biggest questions out there is proving if God is real, and how can we prove this. It is very important to be able to prove the existence of God in order to become a Christian or a follower of God. The existence of god means there is an eternal heaven something to look forward to after we pass away and our souls leave our bodies, it also means there is an eternal hell to be avoided. Some may argue that Gods existence cannot be proven this is simply not true, God’s existence can be proven it is important to prove this so our souls don’t go to hell but go to heaven and live there for an eternity. We as human’s find it necessary to have something to believe in whether it is God, Allah, Jehovah or Christ. The problem is not believing in something, but how being able to prove what we believe in. For example let’s look at some of the arguments of the proof of God’s existence and why it is important to prove. The ontological states that the greatest possible being you can think of must exist and that being is God. ( Mosser, 2010). This argument is based on reasoning and reasoning only. If we say there is no God than everything is permissible, since everything is not permissible there has to in fact be a god, for example let’s look at a few examples in order for someone to be able

    When you talk about proof, you are talking about establishing some degree of certainty about the existence of God.     To asses the strengths of the Ontological Argument for Gods existence, we firstly need to understand what it entails. The Ontological Argument looks at proof 'A Priori', which is Analytical truth, reason based proof. This can be explained by saying 1+1=2. We know this to be true, as it is based on reasoning, and is a logical statement. This can be seen as a strength of the Ontological Argument, the fact that it is logical and rational. It deals with knowledge gained independently of experience, innate knowledge. It does not use any external evidence, it simply uses the definition of the word 'God'. It therefore claims that if you understand what God is, then you understand that he must exist. St. Anselm, an Archbishop of Canterbury, first proposed the Ontological Argument in his book 'Proslogian', according to Anselm, both theists and atheists have a definition of God, if only for atheists to dismiss his existence. Therefore, Anselm claims, God exists in the mind. This could be considered a strength of the Ontological Argument for God's existence.     I personally have never seen proof of Gods existence or non existence. I have sat pondering the question does he exist or not, while watching a beautiful sunrise. Attended bible school as a child and Sunday services as an adult. I've heard many arguments for both sides, but these do not constitute as proof. I have read a large portion of the bible but I know that it was actually written by the hand of man, and man as we know are famous for making mistakes. One of my favorite movies is the Ten Commandments. Even though all of this can cause doubt, I find myself on a fairly regular basis praying for friends, strangers I've never meet and occasionally myself. The question remains does God exist or did we just happen by accident on this large ball of gas that developed into what we like to call home. Well it is my personal opinion that both are right. I believe that a higher power must be at work to have created such a vast universe which our planet is just a speck in. I agree with science that evolution holds the answers to how life evolved on earth. Does God intervene in our lives? Does he answer prayers? Do miscalls relay happen? I don't know the answers to these questions, but I believe a lot of people need faith to help them face many trials and obstacles they are face with in life.
