Is Bullying Really Worth It? Everyday around the world, about 160,000 students skip school because they are afraid they will get bullied, even to the point of having suicidal thoughts. About 7 percent of high school students have attemted suicide. However more than 14 percent have thought about it due to the bullying involved in there everyday lives. Bullying continues to happen everday making it a very important reacurring issue that needs to be stoppped. There are many high school students that are bullied, and end up hurting themselves because of it. According to the GALE student resource” about 4,400 students kill themselves each year. About 7 percent of students have attemted suicide, and more than 14 percent have thought about it”(1).

As a scholastic article states, “Frequently crying, not wanting to go to school, and change in language are potental signs that someone could be getting bullied” (6). Just by seeing a high school students’ emotion, could easily tell someone if they are getting bullied a lot. Sholastic also stated, “ If your child is a victom of bullying, he or she may suffer physicly and emotionally, and the schoolwork will likly show it. grades drop becasue instead of listining to the teacher, kids wonder what they are doing wrong and weither anyone will sit with them at lunch. if bullying persists, the student may be afraid to go to school”(11). This shows that with the bullying circling in a students mind, it hage a huge effect on the student durring school througout the day. According to www.stopbullying.com , “many students want to copy their friends, help the bully to fit in, and sometime think that they are better than the bully”(2). This shows that kids do want to fit in, and they bully to do so. The article also stated, “ Kids who see bullying usually dont know what to do, esspesially at a young age. Many kids are depressed and worried. some kids end up joining the bully just to fit in”(6). Due to all of the bullying students dont usually know what to do in a situation because they are affraid they will get bullied as well. Weither if it is trying to fit in or just not knowing what to do, don’t get involved and just tell someone, so bulling wont effect one’s
