Interview with a Record Store Owner
Side A on a less then pleasant day the weather was cold and rainy so before I left the safety of my car I turned my collar up to face the cold and made a bee line to the store so fast it would put Usain Bolt to shame. When I walked in the store I was greeted by the smell of coffee and sound of The Rolling Stones song Monkey Man playing over the store speakers with the owner of the store john singing along to the song and throwing his arms up like a monkey. As soon as you walk into the store your face to face with a giant rack of used DVDs ranging from Driving Miss Daisy to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre the store itself is not very big on the left side of the store is a shelf contain records from Abba to Rob Zombie on the right side is a shelf holding the cds. I was immediately welcomed by john who sitting down in behind his cash register with a sign on it that read “No Personal Check” behind him was a giant poster of Frank Zappa which seemed like one of his most prized positions john had. John had on a tie dyed rolling stones shirt john had looked tried and he seemed to be discomfort later I found out he looked that way due to having MS. Before john and I stared talking I asked if we could take a walk around the store john told me that he is not able to “move very well because I have Multiple sclerosis” so he called for his employee Jack to walk with me and directed Jack to answer questions I have. Jack was tall and in his early 20s ,jack and I walked around the store looking at vinyl they had they had seemed to have every record you could ask for and if they didn’t have it they could order it for you . I asked jack to explain the process of how they value the used records that come in the shop jack pulled a random of the shelf and proceeded to go over the check list “first we look at the condition of the album sleeve any bends or damage to it second we look for the labeling "mono," "monophonic," "monaural," "stereo" or "stereophonic" on the sleeve and

At Claire’s Accessories, I decided that I would ask people if I could buy something they were wearing. Claire’s Accessories, like the rest of the mall, was nearly deserted, but I did find the perfect opportunity and took it. I approached a lady, she looked like she mas maybe in her middle 50’s or so, and commented on how pretty I thought her earrings were. She instinctively reached up to feel them to figure out which pair she was wearing. Before I even had the chance to ask her where she bought them, she began to ramble on about the various stores where she buys her jewelry. Finally, she came to the conclusion that it was either Sears or JCPenny. She then asked me if I’d seen the earrings they had on display at Claire’s Accessories. I chuckled and then surprised her by asking if I could buy the ones she was wearing. Immediately she began to laugh hysterically. She turned around walk outside the store because she was laughing so hard. Then she walked back in and asked me if I was joking. I…

Elizabeth Covington, who was sixty-five years old when her husband died, needed as much money as she could muster, decided to have a garage sale. Her husband had a baseball card collection but Elizabeth knew nothing about baseball or baseball cards. She displayed the cards along with many other items. Michael Ferrell, and eighteen year old, who lived in the neighborhood, attended the sale. What caught his eye was the baseball card collection and, specifically what appeared to be a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle rookie baseball card in near mint condition. On the outside of the box container was a sticker indicating “All cards $1 each.” He couldn’t believe his eyes. He had heard that a similar Mantle card had sold in 2006 for $72,000. He thought about telling Mrs. Covington the real value but decided against it and paid her the $1 and left. Later that month, while she was watching her favorite public television show, she saw Michael asking the antiques expert to estimate the value of the card. The expert said that even in a tough economy the card would likely bring $80,000 at public auction. Mrs. Covington brings an equitable action to rescind the contract, get her card back and return the $1 to Michael.…

It was on a Friday night at 3 a.m. A man that was in his early 30’s walks in while I was ringing up a customer at the cash register, wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. The man seemed to be from the Middle Eastern because of his thick beard and accent. It took him 10 minutes to rome around the store to get what he needs. While he was shopping he left everything he needed on top of the counter, and in those 10 minutes he got so many things. He bought 2 gallons of milk, 2 boxes of cereal, half a dozen donuts, and dozens of candy bars, baby lotion, Advil, and a 30 dollar lottery ticket scratcher. At first when he was ready to pay I asked why he came inside a the store wearing nothing but a towel, and he replied saying that all his clothes were dirty and his wife gave him a list of things to get for him. He made her seem like if she was very demanding and he practically had no choice but to come and get the aarons. This was a norm violation because the man was out and about in a public place wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. It is expected especially men at his age to dress appropriately when being out in public. This falls under folkways because he was not dresses…

Meanwhile, Joe just sat there by the side of the road eating crackers. “We’d be on our way now if you would just call a tow truck!!” he yelled. I paid him no mind, that’s all he ever does anyway, talk. Yet, he was right. I couldn’t afford a tow truck, I was still waiting on my next paycheck, since the last one finished the next day after I cashed it. To be able to find the best candidate for the interview I had to look everywhere and had to ask everyone for an interview, but after getting turned down from a couple agents turns out that my friends real estate agent is one of the best and well know respected person at what he does, his name is Ludyn Tijerino. Mr. Tijerino works for an agency called Approved 4 keys. I was able to get in contact with this person through a favor done from my friend. My overall assessment of this interview is that it turns out that in the real estate business there is more to it than what I had imagine. Many of the questions that I had asked seemed to be answered by the time I got there for interview. Mr. Tijerino Seems to be a real great person at what he does and how he deals with his business, but three very important aspects that seemed pretty relevant about him is that he was very clear about what he said and got the point across thoroughly with effectiveness, second he seems to be a person very well connected and constantly communicating with other professionals, third his he had very good Non-Verbal communications in which he made me not feel nervous around him while conducting the interview.…

On Friday September 5, 2014 I took my kids to the movies to see the movie LUCY. While there I sat next to some patrons while my cell phone rang and echoed through the theater, then I proceeded to answer my phone and carry on a conversation with the other person on the phone. The next thing I did was get up and move my seat next to another patron and began telling him everything that was about to happen in the movie. I laughed really loud and obnoxiously at parts of the movie that weren’t even funny. It was so embarrassing for my children who had no clue as to what was going on. Finally after about 45 minutes into the movie one of the patrons got up and had the manager come and escort me from the theater. I explained to him that I had to get my children and he allowed me to go and get them. They pretended to act as though they did not know who I was.…

What the man had offered as a way to help pay the debt had me taking a swing at him, but his men stopped me. Luckily, the police officer who was investigating the robbery walked in.…
