Initial Exploratory Analysis
Initial exploratory analysis will be performed which includes basic descriptive statistics to quantify overall reported experiences. Comparative quantitative analysis will be performed using parametric or non-parametric tests for continuous variables (depending on sample size and distribution) or using comparative analysis of categorical variables (chi-square) to determine differences between patients reporting NDEs and those not reporting any memories during CA.

    Alzheimer’s disease? , Which is a case study, was very helpful for anyone whom may be researching such a case? The article basically provided explanations as to how the research for the article at hand. Research requires a lot of time and discipline. It is a vital process that contains specific stages, which we like leads to valid conclusions. The stages that are involved consist of selection of an issue to conduct the research on form a hypothesis, review the information that is backing up the hypothesis and also providing an explanation and formulating a useful conclusion. Case control study which was conducted within this article, consisted of participants and informants who provided consent written/verbal to have these studies done on their self’s. The research design that was used to identify and provide factors which were thought to play a role within certain medical conditions. When research is conducted there usually follows a hypothesis to be formulated. In this particular case study there were a total of 217 participants which all were diagnosed to have onset Alzheimer’s disease. The gender break down of the case study consisted of 57 males and 160 females. The control groups were composed of 76 siblings who do not have the same condition which was Alzheimer’s.     Dealing with a learning disability: Dementia generally affects people with learning disabilities in similar ways to people without a learning disability, but there are some important differences. People with a learning disability are at greater risk of developing dementia at a younger age - particularly those with Down's syndrome. There is no history of TBI (traumatic brain injury) or LOC (Level of consciousness) but the patient reported that she had hit her head on the right side creating her TMJ problems. She denies ETOH (Ethanol) intake or smoking. Current medicines include: ibuprofen and Detrol. On admission to the MDC (Memory Diagnostic Center) the patients score on the MMSE was 3-D over 3-D and she was able to recall all three words. Clinical dementia rating was 1. She has worked for about 30-years as an editor. Currently she resides in her own home with her granddaughter with is sixteen. The patient’s granddaughter Jance, moved in about 3-years-ago and has had academic problems and reduced moderation. Ms. Copeland has tried counseling and the Date Counting Learning Center without much success secondary to Jance’s reduced communication and tendencies to sabotage own successes .     The hippocampus is involved in memory and learning and has been looked at in several different ways (Leuner, et al., 2004). Therefore the hippocampus should be active and improving for these with ASD while being treated with ABA therapy. With increased seasons of ABA therapy, there should be more blood flow within the hippocampus than before ABA therapy. This research would look specifically at the children currently involved in and just starting ABA therapy. There would be two group those who are just starting ABA therapy and those who are already in the program. An fMRI scan would be taken of child’s brain specifically looking at the hippocampus. Every child would go through their normal routine with ABA therapy. After six months another fMRI scan will be taken for all the children participating. The second set of scan will be compared to the first to see if there is in fact more blood flow to the hippocampus indicating there is more activating of learning and memory. The data would have to be charted for each individual child to see the difference between the six months. Ideally, the results would show that all of the children had more blood flow within the hippocampus during the second scan.
