1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Selection of the establishment and the application procedure Having interests of working with a government institution for my internship period, I checked the council’s website for vacancies. I then sent my application letter attached with it was my curriculum vitae, school introduction letter and a letter of recommendation from one of my referees, the dean school of Management and Commerce, MR David Wang’ombe addressing it to The Town Clerk Thika Municipal Council via the council’s email address: mcthika@yahoo.com. I later got a call from the Municipal council informing me to go collect my letter of acceptance from their offices in Thika Town hall. Acceptance of offer of attachment

Having received the letter I had to sign an agreement that was based on my acceptance to work as an intern at the Municipal’s Treasury department. The conditions were; I would not earn salary or allowances from the council during the period of attachment, would meet all expenses towards my up-keep during the said period, I will take an insurance cover indemnifying the council from all the insurance risks, which may occur during the period of attachment and I will abide and uphold the council’s rules and regulations. The working days are Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm everyday and a one hour lunch break and on Fridays up to 4pm. Working time if not fixed as it might extend when need be. Job Definition
