Within the study, 136 residents of the Wynne Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice witnessed a staged theft and provided testimony to the incident (Colwell et al, 2002). The interview consisted of scripts derived from Structured, Cognitive, and Inferential Interview techniques. Participants were assigned randomly to one of the three interview techniques and were measured on their honesty and dishonesty to the questions obtained. Participants randomly assigned to the honest group were instructed to report everything about the incident as truthful as possible. Participants in the dishonest group were instructed to distort the testimony from the honest group to debar the conviction of the staged perpetrator. The interviews were held individually for a duration of one hour and were recorded and videotaped (Colwell et al, 2002). The role of the interviewers was to accurately identify participants who were giving fabricated statements and honest statements.…

    5 Victim Activity Report

During the 5 victim activity me and my partner had the basic questions down packed. We knew to ask what were the events leading up to the scene, and if the victim has any medical history. Then we physically examine the victim to determine any physical symptoms, such as breathing abnormally or dilated pupils. We then proceeded to ask if there were any injury’s on certain parts of the body, mainly with the face/head or spine/chest. With this we could figure out any little injury, like a scrape on the arm. Some things we missed were some leading symptoms proceeding an injury. When someone had a head ace we forgot to check for coordination. We did not see if they could move their body or walk. Asking what lead up to the scene helped us out to determine…

First I would summarize what happened, as well as describing the scene. I will entail that it happened in the parking lot of the shopping center. While my partner and I are on surveillance at a local office supply store we received a tip that a store might have been robbed after closing. Next we received a sketch of two Asian men who might have been involved in the other robberies in the surrounding counties. After receiving the sketch the dispatcher notifies us of a lady supposedly hearing a gunshot, so we head on over. When we arrive the lady informs us that she heard a gunshot and it was supposedly an Asian man who carried the gun. With having the sketch of an Asian man with some robberies we immediately took action with the one we saw coming out of the building. While taking action the Asian female is…

    witness report

PART ONE – What method of evangelism did you use and how did you start the conversation? I used the Friendship method; I was drawn to that method because of the person in which I choose to witness to. My son was not my first choice, but it happen just as it was supposed to. I questioned the friendship method at first, but I came to understand friendship was just a metaphor for friends, family, stranger, and anyone else whom could fit into that category. I picked my son, because I felt he was the right person at that moment to witness to. He and I were engaged in a conversation about angel. Not the angel who are in Heaven, but the angel which there was a TV show that he and I use to love to watch once upon a time. Anyway, he was watching the DVD of the show in his room. There was a part that triggered his curiosity, so he came to ask me a question about it. I knew that was my opportunity to witness to him since he was already on the page about demons. I asked my son what if all of that was true about what was going on in the show, he said some of it is true. I asked him what part he thinks is true, he responded. The part when angel lost his soul. I asked him if angel lost his soul for real what would happen. He said they showed what would happen on the show, angel became a beast named Angelis. After that answer, I asked him, can I share something with you, he said share what? How good God is. “God is a good God; He is always there for you and me. He will give you everything your heart desire, all you have to do is ask. All he asks for in return is your love and devotion to him and only him. He said, you always ask me that. Then, I asked him do he believe Jesus died on the cross for our sins, he answered yes. Do you ever think about giving your life to the Lord? I began to tell him; remember when I told you I received Christ as my savior? It was a life changing experience for me; all kinds of…

    Uniform Crime Report

    • 982 Words

The Uniform Crime Report (UCR) was designed, developed and implemented by law enforcement for use as a tool for operational and administrative purposes (Uniform, 2004). The program was developed in 1929 under the auspices of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and was later endorsed by the National Sheriff’s Association, which acts in an advisory capacity today. It was the first comprehensive system of crime information developed on a national scale. Because statutes varied so greatly from state to state in their use of terminology for describing criminal behavior, a set of definitions was developed for criminal acts to overcome this problem and it was determined that law enforcement would tabulate the number of criminal acts as defined by the UCR program as they were brought to the attention of law enforcement. Because of the volume involved, it was decided that only serious criminal acts would be counted.…
