BAB I
PENDAHULUAN

1. Latar Belakang Di masa persaingan global yang sangat ketat ini, perusahaan di seluruh dunia telah berupaya mencari terobosan untuk bisa mempertahankan eksistensinya di dalam dunia usaha. Tahap demi tahap mereka jalankan dengan membuat perencanaan yang matang sebelum melakukan setiap langkahnya. Sehingga saat ini perusahaan yang ingin tetap bertahan dan sukses dalam menghadapi persaingan harus memiliki strategi yang bagus agar tidak tertinggal oleh para pesaingnya. Salah satu strategi yang saat ini menjadi bahasan penting adalah dengan merancang sebuah konsep yang rapi dalam penataan alur bisnis dari awal sampai akhir. Konsep yang demikian ini disebut sebagai konsep supply chain management. Dimana dalam konsep ini menjelaskan bagaimana perusahaan mengatur sebuah rencana yang matang mulai dari bahan baku itu didapatkan hingga barang jadi yang dihasilkan sampai pada konsumen terakhir. Supply chain management dibuat dengan tujuan perusahaan dapat melakukan efisiensi dalam operasionalnya, baik dari segi biaya, waktu, dll. Selain itu juga untuk meningkatkan pelayanan pada pihak-pihak yang terkait sehingga dapat memuaskan mereka dan apa yang dilakukan perusahaan akan semakin efektif. Untuk menerapkan konsep supply chain management yang bagus memanglah bukan hal yang mudah. Karena dalam menerapkan konsep yang efisien dari sisi waktu dan biaya diperlukan suatu prinsip yang disebut dengan just in time (JIT). Dimana dalam konsep ini setiap aktivitas yang dilakukan perusahaan pada semua aspek harus tepat waktu, harga, sasaran, perkiraan, dll. Sehingga perusahaan dituntut untuk bisa meminimalisir
