Illegal Immigration

There are so many problems and issues concerning illegal immigration. It is time our government did something about it. According to the online Law Encyclopedia, an alien is a non-citizen who has entered the United States without government permission or stayed beyond the termination date of a visa. This is causing problems for America and something should be done about it.
Illegal aliens do not pay taxes. Taxes pay for schools and other public services. Illegal aliens do not contribute to taxes and they benefit from schools and public services. This is not fair to the citizens of the United States. Illegal immigration is also unfair to immigrants that have entered our country legally. Also, people who hire illegal aliens do not pay income taxes to the government for these illegal employees.
According to the Census Bureau there are between 8 and 11 million illegal aliens living in the United States as of the year 2000. If these people are here illegally, then they are criminals. So according to the Census Bureau there are between 8 and 11 million criminals living in the United States. What does this say about the security of our nation?
If I were an Al-Qaeda terrorist, I do not think I would have a problem getting into this country. I would simply come across the border in Mexico or Canada. We need to do something about this now! What is our government waiting for? Do we need to have another situation like September 11th before our government does anything about this?
It seems that if the government wanted to do something about illegal immigration it would have done so by now. Why is the government not doing anything? I want to find out what is being done about this. What is planned for the future concerning this issue? We need to protect ourselves.
New things should be tried to get rid of illegal immigration. Serious fines and jail sentences should be given to those who hire illegal aliens. This would cut down on illegal immigration.
