History of Ice Cream
Introduction:
Welcome everyone, I 'm going to be talking to you about the history of ice cream.
The beginning of Ice Cream History:
-There was many stories that were told about who created ice cream and when it was created.

-The most popular myth is that a Roman Emperor named Nero had his slaves fetch him snow from the mountains and had honey, or fruit toppings poured over it. However, pouring honey over snow is not actually making ice cream.

-Ice cream was most likely brought from China back to Europe, because of King Tang from China, had a method of creating ice and milk combinations. Over time, recipes for ices, sherbets, and milk ices evolved from the French and the Italians.

-After the dessert was imported to the United States, it was given to a lot of famous people, like Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. And it was even recorded that in the 1700 's, that the Governor of Maryland served ice cream to his guests.

-The first ice cream parlor in America opened in New York City in 1776. American colonists were the first to use the term “ice cream”. The name came from the term “iced cream” which was similar to “iced tea”. But the name was soon abbreviated to ice cream.

Methods & Technology:

-In 1846, Nancy Johnson created the hand-cranked freezer that established the basic method of making ice cream still used today.
(Show Photo 1) -Before the hand-cranked freezer, Ice cream was made by hand in a large bowl placed inside a tub filled with ice and salt. This was called the pot-freezer method. The hand-cranked freezer of course was better, and it produced smoother ice cream in a much quicker time.

If you live in a cold climate, you've seen the trucks that salt and sand the streets after a snowfall to prevent ice from building up on the roads. In both of these instances, salt is acting to lower the freezing point of water.…

One problem facing Dippin’ Dots is that the unique product they offer severely limits the target markets that can be reached. Since retail locations can only offer the product at 10 to 20° below zero, special storage freezers are required, as well as specially manufactured cryogenic transport chambers in order to dispatch the product. These among other concerns have limited the distribution of Dippin’ Dots to only serve the away from home segment of the ice cream market. It is therefore advisable for Dippin’ Dots to construct an ice cream product which can be offered at temperatures that a supermarket could handle in efforts to reach the majority in house consumers of the ice cream market.…

The Emperor of Ice-Cream one of the best known poems by Stevens is a poem of ideas picturing a deep amount of sensitivity and sexual implications. The sheet is spread over a woman’s face while the boys are bringing flowers; this makes sure that a funeral scene is being depicted in the poem. The tone of the poem is celebratory instead of being elegiac. The opening stanza of the poem shows that the characters are filled with fun who only value useless and meaningless things and as such they regard ice cream as their ruler or emperor. The reminisce of the funeral of the beautiful woman is also explained who valued an embroidered sheet that was made by her but in the end, she was left with nothing.…
