The American Dream
1) What the reader meant by the statement “I know the American Dream when I see it” it makes the speaker feel joyful and glad seeing others striving to do better for themselves and working hard. Although he face the same experience he knows what the feeling feels like. I agree with what he said “Sometimes they strive because they want something for themselves, such as an economic advancement, a prize, an honor or an achievement.” I agree because I’m working two jobs and going to school full time just to give myself a better life and my family.
