Perspective of the American Dream What are the different views of the American Dreams? According to the author everyone could have an American Dream but having the fancy car and a big house is not exactly the American Dream. Clark states “That dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to the ability and achievement”. This quote shows that everyone has the right to have the American dream all you have to do is want it and work for it and you will reach it one day. She also implies that “life should be better and richer” this means that we have to reach our goal with all positive vibes and everything would be good. This article also includes that the American dream is not having a fancy car and a big house ,but a dream of everyone being equal (Clark1).
In paragraph two it talks about the Declaration of Independence. In which Clark alludes to the Declaration of Independence to support her thesis. Others say that “ new American Dream with less focus on financial gain and more emphasis on living a simple,fulfilling life”( Clark 1) this is one of the third definition that people have as for the American Dream.
