Humorous Wedding Speech – Best Man
“The best part about marriage is, it is so great to annoy that special person for the rest of your life!”
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, for those who don’t know me, I am Josh, who John chose to be his best man for this wonderful celebration. I start by thanking that the presence of the bride and groom’s parents are with us…where it is here you’ll be able to witness first-hand how big John’s ego thinks it is.
Now it has been an emotional day for most of us…and some of you may have noticed that even the cake is in tiers.
I’m here to welcome you all for this special day and on behalf of the bridesmaids, I would like to thank John for his wise words. To the magnificent bride, Lauren, she looks absolutely stunning.
John and I met way back in high school, our first day together. We both came alone, and quickly became close friends.
I’ve known him for 20 years now, and I can say that a man like Paul only comes around once in a

When you see Paul and Linda together, you see what I can only describe as harmony. Their shared love of Sinatra, sushi and each other marks only the beginning of what I know will be a life-long love affair. If you haven’t had a chance to spend time with Paul and Linda, I really recommend it. Just give them a call anytime. Invite yourself over. Better yet, just show up. They won’t mind – right guys?
In all seriousness however, John, it’s a real honour to have been chosen to be your best man today. I think it reflects the fact that we’ve had some unforgettable times together. You truly are a great person, a top act and a first-rate friend. I don’t think I know of anyone more generous – generous in giving help, in giving advice or in the bar. That last one may have to slow down a little now that you are married, but hopefully not until tomorrow.
Enjoy being stuck, bud!

Writing The Second Wife was one of the hardest projects I’ve ever undertaken. This story ignited a variety of emotions within me. So much of that work was spent with me locked away from family and friends. It took an army of people to make this happen, and I couldn’t have done it without their encouragement and support. I am constantly humbled by the love my army showers upon me.…

I learned that my duty was not only to remember the wedding ring and make sure Dave got to the wedding on time, but also to spend 5 minutes at the wedding reception demolishing Dave's character. And I'm not one to shun my duties, so here it goes…

This is also shown through Paul’s relationship with Rosie who he, during the early stages of their association, dislikes, despite her obvious affection for him. But as he grows and matures, he gains appreciation for Rosie and even later on in the book where he becomes very self focused and self involved, he says that ‘at a time when most of my love was saved for myself, that I loved her was no small feat.’…

You all were a hand to hold when I needed it. Holly tried but I pushed her away. Yes, we drank a lot, but you all also showed me what a fun marriage was like. You also taught me my coping was a “choice”. Key word that Jeremy brings back at the end. You also were there during my sisters’ death and seeing me greave with boos and alcohol. I basically had to be drunk every time I came home to cope, even the day she died, I got so drunk on the plane because I couldn’t deal and had no control or knew how to cope.…

Welcome to all of you who took the time to come by and say goodbye to my husband. I remember the first time I met John, we were young kids. He always looked after me because I was too weak and clumsy to take care of myself. We were best friends and I fell in love with him. He was hardworking, and never told I lie. That is what I liked most about him. After a few years I married him, and I was overjoyed, for I truly loved John and still do. He was a good Christian of Salem, he took part in the church and hung the door of the church. He always cared and helped the people of Salem in every way he could. Whenever he could not go to church, usually because I was sick, he prayed at home on the other hand, he always attended church when he could.…

    A Humorous Wedding Speech

Good morning, America. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comfort of everyday routine, the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any red-blooded American. But in the spirit of commemoration, whereupon important events of the past, usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, are celebrated with a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this Thanksgiving day by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are, of course, those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, I may be actively placed on lists, and men with guns will soon be marching in our very streets. Why?…

As this is my first wedding let alone my first wedding speech I was given very specific instructions from those in greater authority as to what I am allowed to say.
