The group insurance policy of SBI Life has since been renewed for the period 7th of Feb , 2008 to 6th of Feb, 2009 on the same terms and conditions. As perthe experience during the first year of operation of the scheme, SBI life has pointed out that settlement of claims at their end is delayed because the branches/offices concerned do not send the following original documents of them :
Original death certificate of the employees.
Original claim form.
In some cases, branches just stop at sending a fax communicating the death and either do not send the original of death certificate and the claim form or there is considerable delay in sending the same. The other reason of delay in settlement of claims is that the claims are being sent to this department instead of being directly send to SBI Life, as re-despatch of claims by us to SBI Life not only delays the process but also creates avoidable paperwork.
In view of the above, it is reiterated that all claims under the group insurance policy must be sent directly to the SBI Life, at the following address, alongwith the original death certificate and the claim form for prompt settlement :
SBI Life Insurance co. Ltd., Claims Department, 2nd Floor, Plot NO. 3A, Sector NO. 10, CBD, Belapur, Navi Mumbai – 400614.
