IMPLEMENTATION OF DICOM GROUP PLC CORPORATE CULTURE
Culture is a worn and used term throughout mankind’s history. As explained by Edgar Shein(2010), A common man indicates complexity usually to another person when he is of the perspective that the man is “cultured”. The scientific community is indeed of the opinion the culture implies the customs and rituals that has been developed throughout history. Yet to the benefit of the topic mentioned in this assignment, culture will be defined as the practices and habits that corporations or organizations develop to manage their employees and instill the values and the ethics of the company.
QUESTION 1 To fully understand the working and the characteristics of a corporation such as the Dicom group, a cultural web will be most effective in order to align the vision and the mission of the Dicom group. A cultural web involves the aspects of a company or corporation in relation to their power structure, stories, symbols, control system, rituals and routines. To properly align the culture to the corporation, a corporation has to first work out their desired culture which suits them best. Then they have to work out a strategy which is complimentary towards their culture. After planting themselves in to a culture, they have to work out the differences between the culture they wanted and the culture they possess. The last step is for them to work out the differences into perfection. Thus this leads us to the vision of the Dicom Group which is to reach global standards by being effective in business transactions. This is to be achieved by increasing the speed of which transactions are made, information and decisions to be passed. Thus an effective suitable corporate culture most certainly addresses themselves towards their standards of their vision.
