The HPV Vaccine is a commonly debated topic among people. Merck & Co. is a firm that introduced Gardasil which is a vaccine that fights the HPV virus and is administered in three injections. Gardasil "sold approximately 50 million doses worldwide" and "totaled $1.4 billion in 2008 alone" (HPV: Should 1). This piece of evidence shows that Gardasil has guarded against HPV and that the vaccine is selling rapidly. Also, many states are beginning to try and make Gardasil a required vaccine. HPV causes deadly cervical cancer and "kills approximately 3,700 U.S. women each year" (HPV Vaccine: Should 1).Supporters argue that since HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection and by requiring the vaccine the numbers with go down.
