I think that Hitler was able to establish a dictatorship because he banned other political parties. There were other reasons why he was able to create a dictatorship but in my opinion the main reason was banning other parties.
Until 1934 Hindenburg had the highest authority of Germany and the only one with more authority than Hitler but on the 2nd of august when Hindenburg died Hitler then had the most power. He then declared himself president and then had the army to swear an oath to him meaning that no one could overthrow him and the Nazis. If Hitler hadn’t of banned the other parties then someone might had been able to overthrow him but then nobody could.
To make sure that no one was plotting against Hitler and that communism and other parties were wiped out he had the SS and his secret police, the Gestapo. Germans feared them and without any help from other parties and only Hitler to run their country they did what they only could without being killed and supported him. Without the SS and the Gestapo Hitler wouldn’t know if people were plotting against him. So if there had have been other parties then others would have feared the police and they could have turned to another party.
To make sure that other parties were wiped out he had to get rid of their members and leader so in 1933 he set up concentration camps that were then later in 1939 where prisoners were tortured and killed. If he didn’t have concentration camps then political members could have joined up with the German people who didn’t like Hitler and they could have stopped him.
Lastly Hitler’s propaganda helped him ‘brainwash’ the population into thinking that he will make Germany great again. The media were only allowed to print things that were favourable to the Nazis and any that didn’t were closed down. This meant the Germans were surrounded by Hitler and his Nazi policies so any that most people did surport him.
Overall I agree that if Hitler hadn’t of banned other parties then he wouldn’t have been able to create a dictatorship. This is because the German people who didn’t surport him could have turned to another party and gone against Hitler. Hitler then wouldn’t have a majority so by making Germany a one party dictatorship Hitler ensured that he was the highest authority and no one could go against him.

Hitler knew that the many opposition parties would pose him and his government a real threat. He instantly acted against them by getting Hindenburg to pass a decree stating they had to be informed 48 hours in advance if a political meeting was to be held. This let Hitler take control of his political surroundings as it meant he would know when and where to go to break up a political meeting. Hitler’s ability to rise up as a dictator and take control of Germany can be linked back to long term causes. These long term causes allowed Hitler certain advantages which he would then go on to exploit and manipulate such as The Treaty of Versailles.
