For example, Amir started out never sticking up for himself or the people he cared about, but by the end, he was getting in fights for those he cared for. Also, I think the Author did a good job showing the themes without flat out saying it. For example, he would show the pain and regret Amir feels for not sharing his secret throughout the story, this developed themes of honesty. I also admired how the author developed a main internal conflict, but still had external conflicts to keep the book interesting. For example, the main conflict is how Amir is struggling with keeping the huge secret and all the guilt that comes with not talking about it, but throughout the story, he faced external problems like his fight with Assef, and his father's
