How To Write A Short Story: Jason Mann
Jason Mann, an engineer, was given a break from his work. The date was March 15, 2017. He was going home in Hawkinsville, a small community isolated by woods, when one of his friends, Mack Taint, was beside his broken-down car. Jason questioned, "Do you need a ride? I have plenty of extra seats. I have three days off."

"Nah," Mack responded, "I'm fine. I'll just call up Colin."

Jason replied. "You don't need to Mack, it's fine. I was about to go camping. Wanna come?"

"You are? If that's true, then count me in!" Mack exclaimed happily. He was one for the outdoors.

"Do you have anyone that you want to come? As long as I know them, they can," Jason said.

His response was, "You know him, I just don't really know

What will we use to season them? I hate meat with no seasoning," Mack said.

"I have some salt, pepper, and some other seasonings. It'll be nice to eat for dinner," he replied, "Mavis; you get one with no seasoning. Just to be nice. I'm nice enough not to burn them for you."

"If that's the case, then I'll just kill my own rabbit. Why would I want one from your hands?" Mavis replied harshly.

"If you will be ungrateful that I allowed you to come on this trip, then you can just go back to your house. Also, I won't drive you, and you will walk. I'll let you keep your clothes, though. I would like to take them and send you running, but I can't," Jason said back to him.

"Jason, I would like to eat some rabbit legs sometime today. Also, by the way, where did you get those? Good heavens, those things are massive!" Mack said.

"I was out with my bow and shot these guys when you were getting the campfire stones. You didn't notice?" Jason replied.

"No, I actually didn't. Now could we just stop talking about these rabbits and cook them so we can eat? Man, I'm starving," Mack said

I don't know why you think it is mine. You can ask them. Mack, Jason, Do I even have a gun?" He asked with a very shaky voice, as he turned toward them.

In unison, they both said, "Not that I know of."

The police officer called a patrol over to go and search for the person who made the scream. The patrol arrived and they went walking around, and then they heard it. Another scream. It was coming from above the patrol, just meters away from the officer, Mack, Mavis, and Jason. They all look up, and they see a mockingbird. It let out another scream. "I found where the scream was coming from," one of the patrol officers yelled out to them, "and it was a mockingbird! One question, though, where did the shot come from if it wasn't Mavis?"

Mavis admitted to what he had done, "I was going to mess around with them. I do own a gun, and that gun, in your hands, is mine. It's just that the gunshot, it came from me. I was running, and I tripped over a root in the ground. The gunshot went off, and I heard a scream. I didn't want to tell you guys, because I don't want to go to jail, again."

"Again? What do you mean again? I mean I wouldn't doubt that you've ever been in jail or even prison, though," Jason laughed.

"It's a long story," Mavis
