How To Write A Nursing Reflection
I am one of the first and the few fellow Class of 2015 Nursing students who were faced with numerous adversities and unfortunately stripped of the chance to attend the pinning ceremony. Due to my current situation, I am urged to address this regrettably experienced in the nursing department. I have been enrolled in the RN evening nursing program at Essex County College since 2013. Recently in our last semester, which ended in December 2015, the scheduled exam dates were accelerated directly after our mid-semester examinations. This affected all of the assessments, including the date of our final exam. Due to this unexpected change, all course work for the semester was either crammed, rushed, or abandoned, all leading to the detriment of the …show more content…
For the first exit exam, 10 out of 42 students passed while the rest of the students continued with ATI testing retakes. On December 21st, we took our final exit exam in which 7 students did not …show more content…
After the exam, I realized some of the questions in the 234 exams were not mentioned in our class work. The previous professor Joy Duarte, who has resigned, and professor (Susi) faculty dean who was on vacation , were the only ones who knew what topics we covered. Both exams were a day apart from each other leaving little room for me to thoroughly prepare. For example, those students who had only the 235 exams passed, while the other three students that had 234 and 235 to retake in one week failed. As a result, for the final comprehensive exam, I scored a 66%, three points away from passing. I also scored 92% on the class work of the 235 that l failed. I met the benchmark of 65 % of the virtual

As a current student of your Accounting 387 course I can agree with the implications of concern with exams and also agree that often exams do not necessarily reflect students abilities due to the time constraints as well as the stress and pressure that students are under during examination time. I feel that a take home exam is better assessment to evaluate student’s capabilities and knowledge of the subject but I would find it nieve of you to believe that classmates wouldn’t assist one another in completing the exam. I can honestly say that if faced with difficultly I completing my take home exam and my final grade depended heavily a pond it I would definitely consult with other classmates to get it done.…

While researching texts written and published about Nurse Practitioners, I have found that Nurse Practitioners are rapidly becoming the top health partner choice for many Americans. Nurse Practitioners have been servicing patients for over forty years. The NP role had its initiation in the mid-sixties in response to a lack of physicians in the United States. They can perform very extensive and concentrated examinations; distinguish and treat common keen illnesses, as well as laboratory tests; and educate and instruct patients and their loved ones about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and possible health care options. In all fifty states Nurse Practitioners are allowed to prescribe medications to patients, including controlled substances. Only twenty-six states allow Nurse…

As a reluctant and nervous nineteen-year-old, I walked in to my first day as a nurse aid to a brightly lit, and mostly bubble gum pink Women’s Service’s unit. I worked there through nursing school; and happily accepted a job as a nurse after graduating. Nine years, and a lot of joy, tears, and learning in between, I continue to call this place my home. There is much satisfaction in being part of the continuum of care of women and families during the antepartum, labor and delivery, and the postpartum period, as well as the care of her newborn baby, and for some women, before and after gynecological surgeries. This mostly happy area of practice is not immune to tragedy, and the to have ability to be with a family and counsel them in their…

For me, choosing to be a part of the nursing profession was not as easy as it may have been for others. I am not the daughter or granddaughter of a nurse. My mother was a single unemployed woman for most of my life. I knew I wanted to walk my own path, but I wasn’t certain what that was. When I entered the workforce, I didn’t follow my dreams; I simply followed familiar steps. For many years I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field, but responsibilities held me back. I realized while I may be very good at what I was doing, I was not following my heart.…

Throughout my education, science based courses have been a central core. One course that left an indelible mark was called, “Medical Careers”. I had the invaluable opportunity to shadow and learn hands-on material from both doctors and nurses at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Hospital. It was not until then that I decided to pursue a career in the medical field. However, in such an extensive field, it was difficult to narrow down to a single profession.…

For the hospital reflection journal, I chose to discuss my experience in the place I could perceive myself working in during my nursing career – the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). My NICU hospital experience occurred on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Honor Health Scottsdale Shea center. My nurse and I were assigned to two premature infants – a 4-week-old female and an 8-week-old male. The infant I decided to do my assignment on was the 4-week-old female. She was born on 02/20/2017 at 25 weeks and 4 days to a G4P1 mother. Her birth weight was 1 pound 11 oz and her current weight is 2 pounds 14 ounces. She is received 25 mL of donor breast milk every 3 hours through an NG tube, with 0.75 mL of liquid protein. Due to her immature lungs and…
