Core Values: Every morning when I get to work, I strive to be someone that Tesoro would be proud to have associated with them. I behave as if I'm always wearing my Tesoro badge, because I believe that people are always watching no matter the time or place. Without collaboration, we get stuck in silo's... Although my dashboard would have been useful to the PMO, no one else would have gotten value from …show more content…
I only want to do things that I would be proud to put my name on; consequently, this means that I would rather take a little extra time to make something great rather than only good. On multiple occasions, I've found improvement areas through either testing or other people and instead of ignoring them or shrugging the opportunity off... I've worked tirelessly to constantly improve myself and my work so that I am proud to have my name associated with it and I know that I gave everything I had to produce a superior

The factors such as diversity, attitude, learning, and work styles affect collaboration in many different ways by bringing a new way of understanding each other and accomplishing something. With diversity it brings a new perspective with people who have different backgrounds and orientations. With attitude everyone has a different way of approaching things and people can collide with different attitudes and cause conflict if people that are not willing to come to an agreement. With learning, people are always taught differently when they are growing up and may have different views and opinions to solve problems. Work styles, people have their own way of doing things and working to achieve a goal. People have a certain way of working and are used to working in their own style and may not work well with how other people have their work styles.…

“I think that decision making is the fundamental challenge for organizations that aspire to be collaborative. There are a lot of things we can do to solicit input, to involve people, to inform people, but so often the rubber hits the road at decision points, when a group of people have to sit around a table or in a circle and deliberate around a specific decision, and the mindset and the skill set and the methods are important here. And an organization and leaders need to invest in those things if they want to move toward skillful collaboration.” (Dressler, 2013). I could not agree more with Larry Dressler in his speech in Decision-Making as a Skillful Collaboration. He helped define decision making and in the Destination…

There are many situations where working with others can achieve positive results, for example when we have a client who has a complex financial situation, we may consult our technical team who have a variety of skills and knowledge. This allows us to construct financial plans that are more effective than what we could produce ourselves therefore creating a better financial solution for the client and reflecting better on the business. When working together it is important to agree goals and plans, this prevents problems down the line, if everyone involved has a clear date and goal in mind then we can all work together to the same goal and achieve it on time without any confusion or unnecessary stress. I support my team members by asking them how they are getting on with their tasks and offering help and assistance when they are busy or unable to fulfil all of their duties. As well as agreeing goals we agree quality measures to make sure that the standard of the work is fit for purpose, work that is done for clients is going to be at a higher standard than that of the work we might do for each other or others in the company, not because we do not care about the standard but this allows us not waste time on unnecessary details when providing a quick informative spreadsheet for a team member for example, however when writing a letter for a…

I've always been motivated by the desire to do a good job at whatever position I'm in. I want to excel and to be successful in my job, both for my own personal satisfaction and for my employer.I had joined my current company Infosys as a fresher and have been working for more than two years where I have been working as a systems engineer.I had been associated with 3-4 projects till date.I have done my best work during this period and have seen myself rising by performing better through each project. The initial projects were of testing. Then I got into development projects in which I was given the opportunity to work on different phases of the project, from design to the implementation phase. I have been constantly performing good in the work required for the projects. When in pressure to complete the work,I have performed well by giving the outputs required form the project and co-ordinating with the entire team to get the work done in time. To meet the deadlines I had worked for all the seven days in a week and had worked beyond my time constraints. Based on the performance of the projects,a project was assigned to me solely and I had completed all the phases of the requirements in time.…
