How to make rice
Do you want to make a side for your dish? Make rice! Rice is a excellent way to spice up your dish. It is yummy and easy! Follow the directions below to learn how to cook rice.
You will need a knife, cutting board, oil, garlic, onion, salt, measuring cup, pot (Any size, just depends on how much you are making), water, a spoon (Doesn't matter what kind), and rice.
First make sure that you have all the necessary materials needed. Get all your ingredients out and set them on the counter next to your pot. Prepare the pot on the heat source, on about 6 1/2 high, and cover the bottom with oil.
Next, get your cutting board, knife, onion, and garlic. Place the onion on the cutting board, and peel off the skin of the onion, and dice up half of the onion. After you dice up half the onion, put the other half to the side, and get four cloves of garlic, and dice them up also. After you dice all that up, put the onion and garlic in the pot with the oil. Let that cook for about 3 minutes or right before the garlic gets golden. Stir often.
Then when the garlic and onion is ready put your rice in the pot, and let that cook for about 4 minutes, stir often. While that is in the pot put the salt in(If you are cooking 3 cups of rice, put about 2tablespoons of salt in), stir that around for about 2 more minutes.
Then add the water, for water you double it on how many cups of rice you put in.(EX. 3 cups of rice=6cups of water)
After you add the water put the lid on the pot and let it cook, DO NOT STIR IT!! Once the water is sort of foamy on top turn down the heat to about 2or 3 low. Finally, once you do that watch it, when there is no more water or foam on top of the rice and you cant see the water, turn the heat off. Let stand for a while. DO NOT STIR IT!!!!!!! DO NOT LIFT THE LID
