How to Clean a Fish Tank
Cleaning Fish Tank When I was younger I loved going to the doctor’s office. It wasn’t because I loved being sick but because I would be on the edge of my seat ready to stare at the huge fish tank in the waiting room. I remember there were all types of fish and of all colors. Years later I now have a fish tank of my own that is a little smaller, and I have had to learn how to take care of it. One of the hardest things to deal with is cleaning the fish tank. When cleaning the tank it is important to follow all the steps so that all the fish may live long healthy lives. First of all have a clean bowl ready to put the fish in while cleaning the tank. Make sure that the water that is put into the bowl is of the right temperature and livable to the fish. At the same time, have all the supplies ready to use and make sure there is plenty of time (1-2 hours) to clean tank. I remember one time that I didn’t have everything ready and I was running around the house looking for supplies and then I was late to church because it took me so much more time. Examples of supplies that will be needed would be cleaning solution, cloth, scrub, fish net, pump, bucket, and towels. After bowl is ready and all supplies are ready the fish can be caught using the net and safely put into the bowl while you clean the tank. With the fish in a safe place the tank is ready to be emptied and cleaned. Take a pump (cup can be used also) and start to empty tank. One time I was doing this and forgot to put down towels on the floor and the bucket overflowed all over my room and so I had to spend the next hour cleaning up the water, so make sure to put down towels around work

A fish has long been seen as the perfect “starter pet”. Parents who are skeptical of their children’s ability to care for a larger animal will often present their offspring with a goldfish before introducing a dog or a cat to the household. While it is true that goldfish do not require quite as much attention as their four-legged counterparts, marine pets are not as easy to raise as everybody seems to think. If a fish is to thrive and survive in your care, you must make sure the water in your aquarium is the right temperature, is free of chlorine, and has a low pH level. Failure to adequately prepare the water for your fish will ultimately lead to their death, likely after several weeks of illness and lethargy. Experienced aquarists may be…

I was with my dad fishing on a Friday during the summer at about 4:30 PM. The day was hot and bugs were everywhere around us. I had on jeans, a t-shirt and a vest to store any fish we catch. My dad had on the same, but i had a smaller fishing rod than he did because I was small and not really ready for a fishing rod like my dad’s. We went out to fish and started at a bridge that was very rundown and poorly maintained and didn’t catch much because of the current and rocks around where we were. We got one fish to bite but it fell off whenever we pulled it up out of the water. We then decided to move to another spot over by the cliffs and ridges because no one was there to get in the way. For a while we didn’t go anywhere too crazy and nowhere that took too much effort to get to. Little did I know was that it’d all change quicker than I thought..…

At the time that I was in the hospital, I was eight years old. I went under anesthesia so many times to endure endoscopies, I had blood drawn too many times to count, and at one point in time I had countless IV's in both arms. This didn't gross me out, almost everything about it interested me. Granted this was not a great experience, it will always remain in my memory because this was when I realized, there was nothing that I desired more than becoming a surgeon.…

Perhaps the first choice one encounters is that of the tank itself. An appropriate tank is the largest one that can be accommodated in one’s home, preferably 25 gallons or more. Larger tanks are easier to maintain than smaller ones. Since a larger tank can hold a larger volume of water, the conditions of the water remain more stable, and are less apt to be affected by unavoidable mechanical failures, as well as waste products of the fish (Thraves 12). If a heater were to fail, the larger volume of water would cool more slowly than would a smaller volume, thus maintaining the conditions of the tank for a much longer period. In addition, a larger aquarium is always more humane for a fish than a smaller one (Kolle 75).…

Fish have lots of protein and are very healthy. Most people think just because they don't have a fishing pole and hooks they cannot get fish. Nothing could be farther from the truth, a lot of deferent fish hooks, spears and traps can be made of wood and carved with a knife. If you are fishing with a hook and line there are a few important things you will need. You will need a hook, line, and bait. If you don't have these things they can be easily made. To make a fish hook all you need is a knife and some wood or bone. A very simple and effective hook to make is a gorge hook. All you need to do is take a stick, break it to the length needed then sharpen it into a point at both ends. If you don't have a line you can make one out of tough plant fibers. Basswood, elm, cedar, nettle, yucca are very good plans to use. The fiber will be easier to work with if it is soaked in water for a few minutes. To make the fibers into strong line, tie two ends together, then start twisting the fibers clockwise, twist each one individually and not together, until tight. Then wrap them together in a counter clockwise and tie them at the end. The opposite twisting and wrapping help keep the line from unwinding. To get bait use bugs or worms. When you fish cut open the belly to see what they are eating. If you don't want to stay with your line for hours there are things to do so you don't have to sit there with it. You can make a Twitch-up…
