One thing that inhabits my imagination in ways that make me eager to write about it is the sport of soccer. Soccer makes me the person who I am today. Soccer made my life , and how I act. My friends were made through the sport. It's not a hobby its a lifestyle.
The second I'm on the pitch I can’t remember anything that stresses me out such as, School , Life and etc. The feeling of stress-free and the adrenaline at the same time was pleasing. The fresh cut smell of grass as you step on the field. One place that makes me feel at home, the field with a group of guys you like to play with. The sport brings the spirit and my mood up drastically. Soccer is magic and it plays good with your emotion and , makes you express it in a great way. Sure you can say it looks like just a field of white lines , two goals , and a bunch of white

Many soccer players see it in a different perspective to be much more. Voices of the coach leading you . Voice and screaming in frustration of the parents. There is no feeling that makes me sparkle like a lighter for me to write about the sport of soccer. Turf burns , mud splatter , open cuts were painful but something to keep as an object to remember and brag about how nice your tackle was . The feeling of being tired during a game is the worst but, as soon as you stop for a break it was a moment of I want to play again. The touch and feeling of your cleats being put on is satisfying . The experience of seeing your friends play on a team with you is one of the most rewarding feelings ever. The moment the whistle screeches are when the best part starts. The frustration of the crowd and players from errors from the referees. The Sun in the sky makes you feel in the spotlight. Mud dripping and staining your shirt , sweat falling down your

People ask me why I care so much. They tell me it’s just a game, get over it. But soccer has never been just a game to me. Soccer has been consuming my time, thoughts, and body since my parents signed me up for small-time recreational soccer twelve years ago that developed into extremely competitive travel soccer. They, perhaps unknowingly, threw me headlong into a life of traveling countless miles, long nights of practice, and an unforgettable amount of tears, sweat, and bloodshed. All which persisted over the course of my extensive soccer career.…

My parents moved from Nigeria to Canada, where they had four children. Being the oldest, I have always tried to play the role of a protector and adviser, which is fulfilling when I see them feel comfortable when I'm around. At the age of five, my parents introduced me to the game of soccer, a game I have been intimately involved till now. This sport, being a team activity, helped shape my personality and character. A character in believing that working hard to contribute to a team effort is vital to the success of a club and that losing or winning a game is not the most important thing, rather learning and improving from it.…

I remember when I was five, I would always attend my step sister’s soccer games during the weekend while at my dad’s. I would always love to watch but I was more of a hands on person. I have always wanted to play soccer but unfortunately it was harder to do for a kid, like me, when I had divorced parents that lived 40 minutes away from each other. It was so hard because usually when it came to soccer, the games would be during the weekend and practices would be a few days during the week. Finally, after my sophomore year I decided to try again and play for my school.…

Initially, my understanding of soccer was very minimal compared to what the coach, Ahmad, had to teach us. I saw the game of soccer from a brand new perspective after practicing with him. General terms like “man-to-man” and “wing cross”, both widely known among soccer players, were very new to me. Coach Ahmad also had special code words like “the three eagles” that he gave to different plays, that way we could communicate loudly with the other players without the opponents figuring out our strategy. As we met more and more each week, my teammates and I began to get used to the new vocabulary and methods of practice, strategies we were not familiar with, which helped our team interact with each other to strengthen our inner spirits. After only a few weeks, most players had gained a large amount of experience and their soccer skills had drastically improved. We had all become a discrete soccer team ready to begin the school’s private league.…
