How Does Social Media Affect Student Athletes?

In the sports world many athletes are all over social media and posting either about their everyday life or posting about the stats they put up in their sport. Then there are the athletes that post about things such as drug use and other bad things they do outside of the field or court. Athletes posting and getting in trouble on social media is an everlasting problem in today’s society. It is not only with pro athletes, it is also with student-athletes too. There are many student-athletes and pro athletes that have faced disciplinary actions because of inappropriate post onto their social media. They do not think or consider their career for a split second of them posting onto social media. Athletes can stay away from the everlasting problem of social media troubles if they can just hold players accountable to their post and not worry about their social media until after their sport. Also, social media can be prohibited completely to ensure player safety of discipline.
