Games are interactive and engagement when linked to learning has a positive correlation to student achievement per Creekmore and Deaton (2015, page 22). There are many online games which can be used with the smartboard in the classroom. There are other interactive games that are either for individuals or groups of students. It is important to have opportunities for the students to socialize, which will also give them an opportunity to learn from peer modeling. Creekmore and Deaton pointed out the importance of students to use Self-Regulated Learning strategies. This allows them an opportunity to reflect, monitor and self-assess their learning (2015, page 35). This gives students a responsibility in their learning, which makes them feel more responsible and in control. Questioning Techniques are essential as a link to higher-order thinking questions for students, as well as the real-world connection. Students have a need to know how this information will be used in my life.
