How Did The Prophet Daniel Speak Of The Abomination Of Desolation?
How do we qualify this claim?

The current economic meltdown and the Middle East crisis is the breeding ground for the ascension of the antichrist to the world stage as the world ruler. He will gain popularity as he advocates with great oratorical power the idea of the new world order and world peace and; at the top of world peace agenda will be a supposed plan to stabilize the Middle East tensions.

And, as he will in all likelihood be a Jew who will speak the language that the Jews who (for many years had been hated and dominated by nations of the world) would be desperate to hear, they will fall for his deception.

Israel will then embrace him as their Messiah, hoping this would bring an end to their suffering because they now know that

The New International Version of the Bible explains this better in Daniel 9:27,

“He will confirm a covenant with many for one seven. In the middle of the seven he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of the temple, he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him”.

Let me hasten to say that some Bible scholars see Daniel 9:27 as referring to the Messiah making a covenant with many for one week; in the middle of which He was cut off by being crucified on the cross. They then see the last three and half years to be fulfilled upon Israel as God’s judgment upon them through the great tribulation.

For some time I followed this school of thought, however I changed my mind after reading the New International Version’s interpretation as quoted above. I was finally convinced that Daniel 9:27 is making reference to the Antichrist! (I am yet to be convinced otherwise on this

What is the “abomination of desolation”? It is the image or statue of the antichrist that will be erected in the Jewish Synagogue that the False Prophet will force people to bow down to!

The Jews know from the teachings of the Torah that idol worship is abomination to God because idolatry (according to the Mosaic Law) is spiritual adultery. For this reason, they were told to be on their look out for this abominable act of the man of sin.

In fact, for the Jews, the erection of the Beast’s Image will be a sign that the end is come!

Jesus advised that when they see that abominable act, they must flee to the mountains warning, “...for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no nor ever shall be...”

The reason for their flight is that Judea where they are will be a trouble centre or hot spot area mostly and immediately affected by the execution of those who will refuse to succumb to the False Prophet’s demand for the worship of the Beast’s

Benjamin Roden the leader before David, wanted all the Branch Davidians to follow the feast days throughout the year, for example Pentecost and the Passover. One of the teachings that the Branch Davidians followed and believed was “2,300 day prophecy from Daniel 8:14 may start from David’s death”, the year would be 2000. When the year 2000, came around a cleansing would have occurred. They believed that when the breaking of the seals would occur, Christ would return to earth and a battle would happen and the Branch Davidians would be the main leaders during this. The difference with the Branch Davidians under the leadership of David Koresh was that he positioned himself as God and that he would open the seven seals and set the end of the world as we know it in motion. The seven seals refers to the seven symbolic seals that secure the scroll that John wrote in the Book of…

About a year after King Josiah of Judah had turned the nation toward repentance from the widespread idolatrous practices of his father and grandfather, Jeremiah’s sole purpose was to reveal the sins of the people and explain the reason for the impending disaster (destruction by the Babylonian army and captivity), “And when your people say, 'Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?' you shall say to them, 'As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve foreigners in a land that is not yours.'" God’s personal message to Jeremiah, “Attack you they will, overcome you they can’t,” was fulfilled many times in the Biblical narrative, Jeremiah was attacked by his own brothers, beaten and put into the stocks by a priest and false prophet, imprisoned by the king, threatened with death, thrown into a cistern by Judah’s officials, and opposed by a false prophet. When Nebuchadnezzar seized Jerusalem in 586 BC, he ordered that Jeremiah be freed from prison and treated well.…

Protestants may fear the coming of the beast, but should be prepared for the coming of Christ and will be able escape the evil doings and leadings of the beast. David C. Pack, author of the book “Who or What is the Beast of Revelation” tells his readers, “The world is nearing the ‘end of all things.’ The book of Revelation speaks of a terrifying, great “beast” to appear at the end of the age. The Bible identifies this beast and warns of his “mark”—while prophesying civilization-shattering events leading to Armageddon.” The myth of the beast of revelation is an icon in most Protestant’s believe of the second coming of…

    Mark 13:5-13
Jesus said to them: "Watch out that no one deceives you. Many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and will deceive many. When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains." You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit." Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.…
