Hotel and Paris
A terrible holiday Last week I went to Paris and Rome with my wife. These places are my dream travel places since 6 years old. I always image that if I can go to Paris to take lots of beautiful photo and eat fresh see food also visit Paris Tower one day. And now, my dream came true. However, this trip was terrible and destroys the good image of Paris and Rome in my mind. When the first day to fly to Paris, the travel agency was planning to buy the plane tickets when we arrived the airport, out of his mind, there were too many people went to Paris and the tickets were selling out. Therefor, we were waiting in the departures nearly 4 hours. With the long waiting, we took off with the bad mood finally. Unfortunately, when we off the plane, Paris got strong rain and rainstorm and the guide told to us that’s very dangerous for us to continue our travel plan, the thing we could do just delete all the planning. He took us to the hotel which just have one star and which is near the Paris Airport. I wanted to complain about the room, the walls were damp, all the things in our room were with dust. I could not image that how I would live in that terrible room for whole night. The double bed was small, even did not suit for my wife and me. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The local people like meeting together at the early morning in the park and discussing about the football match, which was hold last night. We could hear their chaos clearly, although we closed all the windows and doors. For this reason, we woke up early and wanted had a good swimming. However, the swimming pool was full of trash such as cans, plastic bags. We decide to tell to the travel agency to change another hotel, we wouldn’t mind how much money we have to pay. With not many surprise, the hotel which be chosen for us is terrible. The hotel claim that they were the best hotels in Paris, but what we saw is the hotel hasn’t completed yet, all the things

In ¡°The Blue Hotel,¡± Stephen Crane uses various provocative techniques to ensure that the setting adds to the richness of the story. ¡°The Blue Hotel¡± is set in a cold Nebraska town at the Palace Hotel in the late 1800¡¯s, but there is more to setting than just when and where a story takes place. In a written work, it is the author¡¯s job to vividly depict events in order to keep the reader¡¯s attention and to create colorful mental images of places, objects, or situations. The story is superbly enhanced through Crane¡¯s use of setting to develop mood, to create irony, and to make nature foreshadow or imitate human actions.…

Carrying your suitcase up flights of stairs (because Parisians choose to have miniscule elevators), is not what most people typically love to do after a daylong flight but I’m here. I open the curtains to a cool but thrilling winds embrace. I am really here. This is it. After the tenant has left me, I stand and take it in. No one here either… just like Sydney. I’ll give it some time though; I escaped to France for a reason – new opportunities, beautiful cities and villages, a chance to live again.…

The next morning we decided to go on tours and learn more about the city itself and the history that comes from it. When we got into our cab that was taking us to our destination, I looked out the window and was amazed at all the people who rode their bikes along the canals, under the beautiful trees and flowers over layering the sidewalks. I told my dad I wanted to rent a bike the rest of the way, so we got out of our cabs and found the closest bike rental. After realizing that the bike was way too tall for me and falling off a few times, I finally got the hang of it and we rode our bikes alongside the river until we reached the museum, The Louvre. Walking inside, it was astonishing to see the interest people take into consideration over the art. The way I’ve learned so much about this museum, it didn’t feel real to actually had step foot inside. Especially seeing the Mona Lisa, and how small it actually is. With glass, long red rope, and 2 body guards standing in front of this famous…

In the Greek myth, Paris and the Golden Apple by Eth Clifford, the reader faces a world in which one seeks honor and glory. This concept drives the men, throughout all Greek myths, to part incredible journeys in the hope that they will be remembered as heroes. Paris, however, does not face any major challenges along the way. Despite all of his apparent failings as a prince, a hero, and a man, Paris presents the audience with a contrast between a true hero and a person who does not face the consequences for his actions willingly, instead having to be provoked into fighting. At the beginning of the story the reader sees Paris being asked to judge the three goddesses Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite. Paris is unable to make a true judgment for his decision was placed upon who offered the most appealing thing. A clear example of this is when Aphrodite spoke her offering, “Aphrodite answered, holding her hand, palm up, ready to receive the golden fruit from Paris. ‘She exist, and she is yours when the apple is mine’” (210). The audience is unable to see Paris as a hero because his judgment is selfish. This quote calls attention to the fact that Paris is rather being persuaded by the three goddesses’ offerings. The reader can observe a bargain between the goddesses and Paris. A true hero does not seek for anything in return when he is asked to give help to others. Paris is not a hero in any of the same ways that many soldiers are. Regardless of his appearance in battle, Paris is most defending the Trojan territory alongside other men. Therefore, there was a common enemy to all. Moreover, Paris was expecting aid when he was injured in battle, and Paris was convinced that Oenone would help him. This is stated when Paris sent call for Oenone, “‘Sweet Oenone,’ Paris pleaded when he saw her ‘I know you have the power of healing. Only you can help me now.’” (215). Paris does not…
