I personally feel as though being an active participant in The Honors College will help me to grow as a life-long learner and strong community member wherever I choose to go. Personally, I believe I will become a stronger student in the classroom and in life. I am interested in doing a thesis project related to my intended major of Communication and my interest in film studies. I am considering a film project on a social issue, very likely mental illness or for aiding abused women. These are topics that I feel very strongly about. Mental illness is treated as taboo and needs to be shown as a true illness, not a lack of ability or weakness. Also, domestic violence is a serious issue that happens every day to many women and action needs to be taken to help these victims and punish the predators. I hope to use my acquired skills to bring light to these issues and cause a change. I sincerely hope that you choose me for your program. I know that I don’t need to brag about my academic achievements; you are more than aware of those. I am already eligible and that’s why you have opened your application to me. I have to tell you about the vigor and dedication that I plan to bring to The Honors College. I can assure you that I am not lacking in enthusiasm and perseverance. Being accepted into The Honors College would be a privilege and an honor. Thank you so much for your time. I hope to hear from you

I would like to begin by saying that I am honored to be a nominee for membership into the 2013 Senior Honor Society of York College of Pennsylvania. I take passion in my academic studies and my community involvement. The opportunity to be recognized for the impact I have made on my college and local community is truly flattering. After spending my first two years at Millersville University, I began my studies at York College in my third year of college as a junior. Living in Spring Grove, I made the decision to live at home, work a part-time job, and commute to York College. These factors are all things that could have impacted my campus-life involvement, but I was determined to not let these factors impact my college experience. I jumped head first into the York College Community and was accepted with open arms into whatever groups I wanted to become affiliated with on campus.…

I have become fond of the liberal arts education The College of Charleston offers, which emphasizes exploration into all areas of academia. An example of this would be the honors history courses that interest me, as I enjoy learning beyond my focus of science, and into other areas that create an appreciation for society’s diversity. One of the many aspects of the Honors College I find engaging are the academic opportunities unique to the Honors College that allow students to develop in their major interests, but also diversify their knowledge in all areas, as the academic requirements extend from calculus to western civilization. The opportunities the Honors College extends to its students are what make it appealing to me, and my experience so far in college has led me to believe that I am the right fit for the Honors College, as it would help me develop as a person, and help me achieve my…
