His, Hers, My Wambo
Have your ITWMA friend, referring to your new phone, asked you: “Did you switch to other WAMBO? Why?” Then, you looked at him/her, startled, remembering that what your friend had asked is what Patrick Star had asked to Spongebob Squarepants. Wondering what he meant by the word WAMBO while hoping that what is happening is not a Déjà vu on real life of a cartoon, you replied, “What are you saying?” Well, you are one of the people who are not aware of the trends of technology that is why the word made you really confused however, the word WAMBO has already reflected on the changing realties in the field of WMA.
WAMBO was formed by IT people who specialize web and mobile to abbreviate the phrase “Web and Mobile Built-in Operating System” since this phrase is commonly used in their field of work. The usage of the word is easily spilled in the community by the use of internet as well as smart phones that have already spread and even substituted the word “operating system” for web and for mobile devices.
WAMBO is a pre-loaded operating system and have similarities of how the operating system is defined - as the vital component of the system software in order to manage hardware resources and provide common services for programs and needed in order to operate application programs - but only for web and mobile. Since the word WAMBO is a short word, has a specific meaning and has a definite application, it is easier to use than the usual long term “operating system”, that is the reason why not only IT people but also normal people used the word when talking about operating systems of web and mobile and being used by many people made it adapted by all companies of mobile devices and in the world of technology.
The word WAMBO was also classifiable in two; the web built-in operating system (WBO) and the mobile built-in operating system (MBO). Web built-in operating system (WBO) is usually used by people when referring to the access application that is stored or part of the web or internet while Mobile built-in operating system (MBO) is used when people are referring the software that allows the device to run programs. Since there is no exact term to use, these terms remedied when people are commonly associating with their uses such as when sharing and viewing files in the internet; for Web built-in operating system (WBO), and when using smart phones that recognize input when texting using keypad, viewing pictures or files through the display screen of iPad, and keeping track of files and directories on PDA; for Mobile built-in operating system (MBO). Knowing the difference of these two terms helped people to be even more specific when talking about the operating systems of web and mobile.
The realities that were changed and were brought by the word WAMBO not only in field of WMA but also in the world are discernable. As the word spreads, it benefitted people to be more specific when talking about operating systems. So know you know what WAMBO and now that you know that he/she might be referring to the web built-in operating system or the mobile built-in operating system of your new phone, you could confidently reply to your friend, “Where are you referring; the web I’m using on my phone or my new phone itself?”

At one time, the average consumer could be found carrying a cell phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), and an MP3 player on them during the day. Cell phones were used for making and receiving calls; some had options for text messaging, but that was the extent of a mobile phone years ago. PDA’s were used to manage communication and schedules, most needing to connect directly to a PC for updates. MP3 players were devices setup to store music for playback at the request of the owner. Simply said, three devices to remain on the move in society. Apple was already one of the frontrunners in the MP3 player market with their iPod. To understand three operating systems, you must first know what an operating system is. An operating system is software that controls the computer. It manages hardware, run applications, provides’ an interface for uses, stores, retrieves files. Here are three operating systems DOS, Windows 2000, and Linux. DOS, which is a disk operating system was the first OS within IBM computers. DOS was the operating system utilized by early versions of Windows including Windows 3.1 and 3.11. Next you have Windows 2000, which is an upgraded version of Windows NT and comes in numerous versions some are designed for the desktop and other designed high-end servers. Windows 2000 was a popular choice for corporate offices and their employees. The ultimate reason Windows 2000 was so successful over Windows NT was because it was more stable, support for Plug and Play, device manager, recovery console, activity directory, and better network support. At this time Windows 2000 is a dying operating system and provides no support from Microsoft due to the newer operating systems coming out at this time. The third operating system would be Linux is predominantly used for servers. Between Windows, and Mac, Linux is not a high option and is actually one to two percent of the desktop market. The creation of Linux was one of the best examples for free and open source software collaborations. Linux is packaged in a format known as Linux distribution for desktop and server use.…

Microsoft’s emergence as a software superpower was due to the unfolding of a unique set of circumstance and a combination of luck and skill. Since the early ‘80s, Microsoft’s has a good share of the market of personal computers operating systems but the rise of this company has been widely caused by an IBM’s wrong evaluation. In those years IBM was the world’s largest computer producer, but its managers decided to not invest money into development of personal computer technology because they thought that this sector would never been profitable, but only a niche market. When IBM’s managers realized that the market was growing very fast and the company was in danger to lose its leadership, they decided to base their personal computer on Intel microprocessor and Gary Kildall’s operating system, named CP/M, instead of developing their own. Kildall decided to not sign with IBM and their choice fell back on Bill Gates that bought an operating system based on CP/M and made it compatible with IBM’s machines, creating Microsoft DOS. Every IBM’s PC used this program, so MS DOS had a huge installed base, and the other companies who wanted to stay in the market could only develop a compatible software, also a lot of applications and complementary goods were developed for this platform and it generated a “virtuous circle” that made Microsoft the world’s fastest-growing software company. To be more functional for users and to fight against Apple, Microsoft decided to create a new graphical interface, named Windows and with that reached the leadership on personal computer operating system market and a large market share in many other software market such as word processor and presentation programs, influencing software and hardware industries thank also to its capabilities of encouraging…
