In March 2015, Hilary Clinton came into the public limelight after she was exposed that she used a private email server for official communications. This happened when she was the United States Secretary of State. This was breaking the regulations since she was supposed to utilize the official state Department email accounts that are maintained on Federal government servers. She also deleted 32,000 emails that she claimed to be private (Dinan, 2015). By doing this, she defied State Department procedures and protocols and also the Federal legislation that govern the requirements for recordkeeping. The scandal linked her to other white house cover ups. It revived memories of her prior controversies and cover-ups such as the Watergate scandal (Bowes & Cohen, 2015). People may think that she used a private server to help her hide from the public eye. It also brought her out as someone who does not believe in her policies. It brought her out as her enemy in the sense that she criticized George W. Bush government earlier in 2007 for its secret Whitehouse email accounts. If indeed Hilary is corrupt, implementing her economic plans will be hard. This scandal led to many people believing she is corrupt, and this means many people will perceive her plan as just another political plot and hence not support her in the implementation phase (Bowes & Cohen, 2015). As seen above, she criticized a policy that she later used, it will be hard for the people of America to believe in her if she cannot believe in herself.
In conclusion, it is evident that Hilary Clinton’s email scandal might greatly affect the economy plans she is presenting. If Hilary Clinton attains the presidency come 2016, she will have evaded one barrier to her economic plans.
